3  Chronic Allergies Dry eyes, anxiety, vaginal dryness, moodiness I have been experiencing these sypmtoms for a very long time but I had no idea that it was related to the flonase so I had to think back to what did I start doing differently when I began experiencing these problems and the only thing is the flonase. The product has completely dried up all of my mucus membranes even those down under. My nose never runs and is never stuffy. I thought that it was the best thing in the world until I realized it dried up everything else as well. I am going to stop taking it and hopefully things will go back to normal. I have been taking it for so long though I don't know how long it will take to get out my system. F 23 3 years

3  Chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps Hot flashes, increased appetite, retaining water, weight gain, sleep disturbances, bloating, puffiness in face. Flonase helps with nasal congestion, and is the only way I can breathe without having to take oral steroids. Unfortunately, the side effects make it impossible for me to stay on Flonase for long.  3  Allergies Losing smell and a lot of things are smelling in the same "non-discribable" odor. Suffering from occasional alergies, Flonase was my "miracle drug." But over time my sense of smell and taste has changed. I only use Flonase in pollen season and occasional weekends when I know I'll be around dust. Am very worried about my sense of smell and will stop until I know more. M 50 2 years

1  Allergies My 4-year old daughter was prescribed Flonase for allergies and although it worked, she has been very nervous and unusually weepy since beginning it. She's normally a very confident, active girl, and has become very clingy. Yesterday, she had panic attacks all day and told me she was afraid, but not sure what she was afraid of. This really made me question the medication. We'll not be giving her any more and hope things will return to normal. I'll also be contacting the doctor about this. F 4 10 days

3  Allergies I was doing very well with flonase and was extremely happy after 4 weeks use. After 4 weeks I noticed my vision was getting really bad and I started having anxiety attacks and headaches. I honestly thought I was loosing my mind. I rarely use any type of drug, so I was hoping it was the flonase. I’ve stop taking it for about 4 days now and things are starting to get back to normal. Flonase did take away my seasonal allergies, but be aware of the side affects; they can be a bit scary and overwhelming. M 46 1 months

4  allergies The day I startet flonase I started menstruating in the middle of my cycle. Now, maybe something else is off, but after reading all the comments here, why wouldn't it be possbile that Flonase is the culprit. I'm not on any other meds and live a very healthy lifestyle. Flonase reallly helped clear my allergies but I'm just not sure it's worth having any side effects. I'd rather live with the devil I know (my allergies) and so have discontinued using Flonase.  5  Nasal Congestion,Runny Nose, etc Side effects, what side effects. I had no side effects actually. This helped me so much. I would usually wake up in the morning and go through a box of tissue before i went to school and during school was hell. I couldnt talk either because i had to breathe through my mouth. Now, well Im breathing better than ever and I cant say enough about flonase. M 17 1 weeks

2  post-nasal drip/allerg.rhinitis My sleep was being disturbed with increasing symptoms the longer I was on it. At first, I thought it may have been the food I was eating that was causing the problem and I tried an elminiation diet. (I have not ingested caffeine or any foods with caffeine-like properties for over 24 years.) Other side effects were if I looked up at the sky or ceiling, I would get dizzy; my taste was diminished and flavors weren't as bright. It was a great relief to discontinue the Flonase and get some sleep. F 51 7 weeks

2  sinusitis I have a sinus problem, I am always congested and I have a stuffy nose. I noticed a change in my vision, neck pain, headaches, ear aches and trouble sleeping. I believe that taking 400mg a day is too much for me (two sprays day and night). I have so many side effects that its not worth it. If you don't notice any improvement in taking this spray perhaps its not for you. After taking flonase for 1 month, it has not worked for me and I will no longer use it. F 22 1 months

5  Ear and throat irritation Some dry throat and dry nasal passages. Odd taste in throat. This is the closest I've ever been to calling something a miracle drug. Part of the reason I couldn't stop smoking was that smoking actually cleared my nasal passages temporarily when they were clogged up - and they were almost every night. The first dose of Flonase let me breathe like I hadn't in ages. My nose is no longer stuffed up in the evenings and the sore throat and ears (including popping from the pressure) from eustacean tube issues has cleared up completely. M 31 5 weeks

4  Rhinitis associated w/ tree pollen Mild-to-moderate sinus headache after 3 weeks. In addition: postnasal drip (as if a cold was coming on) but one day w/o Flonase was enough to stop the headache & drip. Also, the day I went OFF Flonase was an extremely SNEEZY day. Very unpleasant. Now, I'm on Flonase again, but I am very concerned that the sudden blurriness in my left eye could be caused by the drug. Other users are aware of changes in their vision, and now it has become a concern to me, too. I was not warned of a possible deterioration in my eyesight. This is truly alarming. I plan to consult with an experienced ophthalmologist, to find out what's what. M 55 20 days

4  Allergic rhinitis Nasal stuffiness immediately after application; made it hard to breathe on CPAP if taken immediately before bedtime. Has worked fine in alleviating the worst of my seasonal allergy sneezing. I don't get "sneeze attacks" anymore since using Flonase®. It has been a useful medicine for me. I am a bit concerned by the unknown long-term use of nasal corticosteroids, so I'm going to eventually try to wean myself off of it by beginning allergy immunotherapy. I saw an even further improvement in symptoms recently when I began using Singulair® in conjunction with Flonase®. Now THAT was a remarkable improvement! M 38 2 years

2  Allergies, serious nasal congestion Dry nose and eyes and blood in mucus Did not relieve my congestion. Just switched to Nasonex recently and I couldn't be happier. I wish I had known Nasonex was scent free sooner b/c I really hate the smell of Flonase. The price of Flonase was not worth it too me since it didn't work much better than sudafed-sad! F 37 5 years

3  seasonal allergies For the first few years, my only side effect was nose bleeds, which would last only a few days. The past few years I have experienced anxiety, depression, and this year insomnia. I have been taking Flonase for about ten years. For the first few years it worked like a dream and relieved my alergy symptoms. The past few years, I began to suspect a relationship between my anxiety/depression and the use of Flonase. At first I thought perhaps it was the allergies themselves causing anxiety. This year my reaction to Flonase was more extreme, and it became clearer that my insomnia and anxiety were related to the time I began using Flonase. I was very relieved to find this website and realize that these were legitimate reactions.I had not heard of them before. I was about to go and request some kind of anti-anxiety medication from my doctor. Now I'll simply stop using Flonase. F 41 10 years

3  stuffed nose Lot of dry mucus in my nose, blood in mucus I was taking Nasacort (triamincinolone), with really good results, and for apparently no reason, my doctor prescribed Fluonase one time instead. I immediately had lots of dry mucus in my nose, almost always with some blood mixed in. The feeling of stuffiness that had disappeared with Nasacort returned a litle as well. F 25 50 days

1  chronic sinusitus I got migraines which increased in intensity and duration over time. Eventually I got a 3 day migraine every week. I experienced weight gain: 35 pounds over 5 years, eventhough I ran 2 miles every day and ate less, I still gained. I felt lethargic all the time. The chronic sinusitus that it was meant to help, now caused it. I HAD WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS WHEN I WENT OFF OF IT (eventhough I tried to slowly limit my use over 4 weeks. I got migraines with hearing loss for 3 days every week. Then they tapered off. I had crawly, tingly skin. AFTER 4 MONTHS OF WITHDRAWAL I could finally start to lose the weight. It helped for the first year that I took it. The side effects started happening at the start of the second year. F 44 5 years

1  Nasal Allergies Horrible insomnia, which I have never experience before in my life. Literally wide awake, wired, staring at the ceiling. Also, much more frequent and intense nightmares. Very frightening drug... Switched from Nasacort which I had been using during allergy season for many years (without problem) due to insurance company deciding to cover Flonase and not Nasacort. Well, after 2 weeks on Flonase, I'll pay the price difference myself. M 34 21 days
