1  Sinus Anxiety, Racing heart, dizziness, nausea, insomnia I was taking Flonase for roughly 1 month along with antibiotics to combat a sinus infection I was dealing with. After about 4 days of completing my antibiotics, I had my first ever panic attack while at work. After the initial panic attack I stopped taking Flonase. My anxiety and racing heart took me to the ER 4 days after my first panic attack and got a clear bill of health not heart problems. I made another trip the a CareSpot 3 days after my ER visit due to dizziness and hazy feeling all the time. The doctor there told me it was not the Flonase causing my anxiety. I started feeling almost back to normal 2 weeks after stopping Flonase. Because my doctor said Flonase was not the issue, I made the mistake of using it one more time to combat some allergies. One day after using it again I had another panic attack. It has now been another week since using Flonase and I still feel anxious and hazy. M 28 30 days

1  Allergies Headaches, racing heart, chest pain, anxiety, shortness of breath, fatigue, loss of appetite, lightheadedness, weakness After a couple of days, I noticed the headaches, and I began to feel weak and lightheaded Then came the shortness of breath which I endured for several days until 2 days ago when my heart started to beat so fast I worried for myself. I completely lost my appetite, and felt like I'd had 15 cups of coffee. I thought I was having a nonstop anxiety attack and then I thought maybe one of the meds I had been taking (flonase and flovent, which both have the same active ingredient) could be causing the symptoms. So grateful to have found this site. I called the doctor to let them know my symptoms and they said (of course) that those meds shouldn't be causing these things to happen. They said to go to the ER to get checked out. Had an EKG and bloodwork, and everything was normal. 2 days off the meds, I am still short of breath and fatigued. Hoping this gets out of my system soon! F 37 8 days

1  Allergies SEVERE anxiety, panic attacks, tightness of chest, racing heart, terrible headaches (tension and "migraines"), shortness of breath, insomnia, unable to think clearly... Started using this to fight and clear up my allergies. Started losing focus at work and didn't think nothing of it. Then I started having panic attacks here and there and still thought nothing of it. The past 2 weeks have been an absolute nightmare. My anxiety is through the roof. I have panic attacks every time I drive a vehicle (unable to work and stopped driving the last couple days). My chest is really tight with a racing heart. I thought I was having a heart attack at the age of 28... Scary. I haven't been able to sleep at all really. Tossing and turning for hours on end. Headaches that are incapacitating. I can barely breath on top of it. I work for a utility company and climb telephone poles for a living. I'm out of breathe from making my toast in the morning??? Flonase did exactly what it said it would for allergies it was very good, BUT the side effects are not worth it. Should not be OTC. Please see your Doctor before using this. Wish I had. M 28 5 months

1  allergies, nasal congestion PANIC ATTACKS!! Beware! Anxiety, head Rush, head pressure, sleepless. I started having high anxiety and panic attacks shortly after using two sprays per nose a day five days. I will never take Flinase again. Flonase cleared my sinus got rid of my allergies and helped get rid of the bags under my eyes due to the allergies but it is not worth it. I ended up in Urgent Care twice for panic attacks. It's been four days since I've stopped taking it and I'm still having anxiety, tingling sensations, head rush and pressure. I haven't been able to work for 4 days. I can barely drive. And I wake up with racing thoughts in my head. It's horrible. F 30 5 days

1  Severe allergy (ragweed) On Day 1, it dried up my nasal passages, but instead I got severe sinus headaches. On Day 5, I felt HORRIBLE with severe itching..first one place...then another...plus hives here and there. On Day 6, I stopped the drug, but am STILL having intermittent itching and had to take Benadryl. I don't know if I have an allergy to Flonase or what, but I sure hope this dreadful itching stops VERY soon. I DO NOT think Flonase should be available over the counter, but only with a doctor's prescription. I take Prozac for severe depression and Valium for severe panic disorder and have done so most of my adult life. I am now 68 and wonder if Flonase could be reacting with my other meds. The sneezing and coughing from the hideous Fall allergies (mainly ragweed and mold) are horrid, but I NEVER had this horrible itching. F 68 5 days

3  nasal congestion at night Extreme fatigue, muscle joint paint, muscle pain At 53 I often can out perform most 30 yrs olds and am always on the go from 5:30 AM to 11 PM. I must say that the Flonase made a difference in my nose not being congested at night. However; I started experiencing side effects. At first I was wanting to go to bed a couple hours earlier and thought I just was burning the candles at both ends too much. Then I started getting pain in the back between the shoulder blades and muscle and joint pain around the knees and had to take Tylenol just to sleep through the night and still woke up in pain. Now by 10 AM I'm ready for a nap and I have muscle pain and was taking Vitamin "B" energy shots to stay awake. I have to stop this med, perhaps at a lower dose it might work but not the way it is now. M 53 3 weeks

1  Allergies I had a sudden extremely sharp burning painful headache on the left frontal lobe of my head while I was at work in the office the third day of using Flonase. It was helping clear up my nose. But my headache...it had me in tears to the point where I had to leave for the day. I thought it was post trauma for an injury I experienced 2 months ago, so I got worried and I scheduled an appointment for a MRI and had my entire family concerned. My MRI appointment is today, and I will miss work because of this unnecessary appointment. I went to use Flonase again this morning and felt I should look up the side effects once more, that is how I stumbled upon this forum and now know the true cause of my severe pain last week. Avoid using this shit, go for saline and steam if you have trouble breathing. It is not worth the risk. Name of this product should be changed to NONASE. F 22 3 days

1  Eustachian Tube Dysfunction anxiety, itchy and tender scalp, severe pinching/burning headaches, tingling and nerve pain in hands and arms, hot skin The first time I used this drug I had also just changed birth control so I thought that my symptoms were brought on by hormonal changes (and maybe some of them were)... but after using this product again and beginning to feel the same burning, itching, and headaches surfacing again I think it may have actually been the Flonase. I am NOT a fan of this stuff and am quitting it immediately. Terrible, will never take again! I'll stick to the saline sprays! F 27

1  Eustachian tube dysfunction Began feeling pins-and-needles sensation in both hands. Also a tingling sensation in my face with an indescribable headache. Also both my arms felt sore and heavy. My physiatrist thought it was my carpal tunnel acting up and gave me injections in my wrists, but the pins-and-needles persisted. When I began feeling them in my right foot I decided to discontinue the Flonase because I even experienced a panic attack with my heart racing. It is only two days now since I stopped the Flonase and the pins-and-needles feelings in my hands are coming less and less. Never will I take this medication again!!!!! This medication should be taken off the market. My friend went to her cardiologist and she told him she was on Flonase. He took her off of the Flonase immediately stating it was the worst thing for your heart!!!! F 65 6 weeks

1  Sinus Infection My very first case of Thrush thanks to Flonase (and Nasacort). Was on Nasacort for a week then switched to Flonase. Four days later my throat was very dry and a little sore. Looked in the mirror and I had white patches all over my tonsils and upper throat. The stuff would scrape off. I've stopped the Flonase. Hopefully this thrush will go away on its own. M 42 4 days

2  Seasonal allergies Extreme bilateral temporal headaches, nausea, dizziness, loss of appetite and vomiting I realized after today that it was unusual to have a headache this extreme 3 days in a row, especially with no triggers present (menstruation, stress). The only change to my routine was adding Flonase. I will not be taking this medication any longer. I'm glad it works for some of you, unfortunately it was a no go for me F 26 3 days
