3 | Allergies | Very strange reading all of these side effects! I have been waking up in the middle of the night short of breath (almost panicky) and have felt an overall wooziness since starting this. I have never felt more exhausted, and am nodding off and yawning at my desk despite getting a proper amount of sleep. I was worried when I saw that "fatigue" was not listed as a side effect, but it seems like it most certainly is! I may try it a few more days to see how things go, because it is helping with my stuffiness and allergies, but if I'm gonna feel drowsy, then NO WAY! | F | 29 | 5 days 1X day | 5/26/2015 | 5 | Seasonal allergies | I'm use it intermittently on high pollen days ( or in anticipation of them) Works great! | F | 46 | 10 days 1-2 puffs | 5/25/2015 | 1 | Seasonal Allergies | Anxiety after first day. Puffy ankles, face on 2nd day. Breast tenderness 3rd day (and had just finished my very regular period the week prior, so this was weird). Pimples on my ordinarily very clear skin by 3rd day. Pants and tops tight on 4th day, tender breasts, anxiety, pimples, puffy ankles discontinued use. Day after I discontinued use I started off schedule menstrual bleeding, and 7 days after discontinuing use I have full blown period. This stuff is NOT worth the risk, DON'T do it. | Just don't do it. Anything that can have an effect on menstrual cycles (in the list of serious side effects) is not worth it. Calling my Dr. tomorrow. I really, really pray I didn't permanently screw myself up. | F | 47 | 4 days 2sprays 1X day | 5/25/2015 | 1 | sneezing, runny nose | I used it before bed time. It cleared up my sinuses but made me very itchy. I also felt very anxious, lightheaded and nauseous. I didn't sleep well and woke up many times during the night. Day 1 and 2 was fine. Symptoms didn't hit me until day 3. | I stopped using it immediately. I can't function like this. | F | 55 | 3 days 2 sprays | 5/19/2015 | 3 | Severe allergies in the Northeast | Severe insomnia drive me crazy. Slight anxiety. Can't wait for it to wear off so that I can get some sleep! | F | 38 | 5 days 30mg | 5/17/2015 | 1 | Allergies and sinus | Severe itching and vaginal yeast infection. Steriods should be banned. No matter what type they are. If the steriods supposedly do not enter the blood stream then why do so many people suffer from the many side effects of this dangerous med? I would rather suffer with allergies. | Do not take this medication. EVER! | F | 180 days 50 1X day | 5/17/2015 | 1 | Allergy | Lose of smell, dizziness, it feels I'm out of balance when I stay in one spot for long period of time, | M | 36 | 3 days | 5/15/2015 | 4 | sinus infection and allergies | Terribly vivid nightmares, increased thirst, metal taste in my mouth, increased fatigue, dizziness, foggy sense in my head making it hard to work, edgy, anxious, mood swings, irritability. However, this medicine did clear up my sinus infection and helped with the high pollen count. I am very sensitive to medicine. These odd side effects far outweigh any value that this medicine has. I'd rather deal with seasonal allergies than try to work and care for a family on this drug. | It took me about a week to figure out that I was suffering from side effects from this medicine. It did help with my sinus infection almost immediately. I forgot to take it one day and felt so much better with more energy and a happier outlook. The pollen was high, so I took it again and I was miserable and irritable. It's just not worth it at this point. | F | 40 | 10 days 2 sprays 1X day | 5/13/2015 | 1 | Chronic Sinusitis | Symptoms started out insignificant as such, loss of smell and taste, metallic taste in mouth and then crescendoed after about a year; encompassing thick, heavy, cracked, painful, thrush coated tongue, tired eyes, pain behind eyes, blocked lacrimal glans right eye, fatigue and then catapulted with rapid heart rate, increased respiratory rate, extreme fatigue, sleeping 12-16 hours per day, loss of concentration and focus, chronic low grade headaches, irritability, anger and outright steroidal rage, loss of appetite, dry cough and sore throat, muscle aches/pain and tendinitis which culminated in total rotator cuff dysfunction, resulting in physical therapy, tremors in hands, joint pains, cramping lower legs, loss of appetite, and weight loss. | I have been off Flonase for 5 days: rapid heart rate, although present at intervals has lessened in intensity and duration, breathing is more tuned to my normal respiratory function, pain/aches in elbows, hands and AC joints are diminished and quieter, trush on tongue has diminished significantly, appetite has returned, overall mental capacity is quieter. I take no other prescriptive medications and now take none! What a nightmare scenario! | M | 2 years 50 mcg 1X day | 5/13/2015 | 1 | nasal swelling due to rhinitis | hyper, couldn't sleep. | Although it did relieve my nasal swelling and congestion, I will not use this again. Astelin gives me much more relief without the nasty side effects. | F | 61 | 21 days 1X day | 5/11/2015 | 1 | Allergies | Itchy hives all over my face and scalp that lasted over a week after I stopped using the medicine; migraine so bad I couldn't get out of bed for days. Horrible! | F | 32 | 2 weeks 30 mg 1X day | 5/6/2015 | 3 | allergies | Extreme anxiety, panic attacks, sore throat, chest pain and palpitations,nervousness/shakey hands, and one day of extremely severe pain behind left eye. | This medicine works great for my severe allergies, its a shame the side effects are soo scary. I am having chest pains as i am typing this. | M | 37 | 10 days 30 | 5/5/2015 | 2 | Chronic sneezing and allergies | Bloody nose and painful dry sinuses | This drug almost immediately stopped my sneezing which was a huge relief. But after a couple weeks taking it as it says on the label I began waking up with a bloody nose and my sinuses would be very dry to the point where it was painful. I changed the amount I was using it to once every 3 or 4 days. The bloody noses have become a minimum and the nasal passages aren't quite so dry but I am going to add a nasal spray that's just for wetting my sinuses. The recommended dosage is way too much. | M | 33 | 2 months 100 mcg 1X AN | 5/5/2015 | 3 | allergies | it seem to have made my heart act up, I have sick sinus syndrome, a heart condition, I am scared to take anymore of it because what it did to my heart. | let your doctor know if you have any heart problems. | M | 1 days 50 mg. | 5/2/2015 | 1 | nasal symptoms, allergies | Horrific mood change, panic attack with heart palpitations | It worked after one dose but shortly thereafter all heck broke loose. I never ever want to be in that hell again. | F | 47 | 2 days | 4/28/2015 | 1 | Sinus pressure and allergies | Left side of face around nose, eye and upper jaw went completely numb. Doctor said stop using immediately. I'm in my 4th off med and face is still numb. Med also caused fatigue and loss of appetite. It may have caused anxiety but I have twin 5 year old girls so I'm always anxious. Patiently waiting and hoping numbness will go away. It feels exactly like a shot of Novocain from the dentist. However 4 days and still numb is quite disconcerting | It did provide rapid relief but extraordinary side effects I would not recommend. | M | 53 | 4 days 50 | 4/26/2015 | 1 | Allergies | Heart palpitations, anxiety burning in chest, tooth pain and worsened sinus pressure behind eyes and heavily salivating. | Used this for first time at 9:00 PM. By 2:30 in the morning I was lying awake in a state of panic. Heart was pounding, eyes and teeth hurt and unable to calm myself. I had extreme salivating in my mouth as if I was about to become nauseous. I spent the next 2 hours praying that this medication would quickly leave my body. I will never touch this stuff again. I would rather deal with the allergy symptoms. | M | 41 | 1 days I spray | 4/26/2015 | 1 | sinusitus | SEVERE insomnia!!! Anxiety. | It definitely worked for my nasal issues. It took me awhile to piece together what I was experiencing with taking Flonase, as I was taking 1/2 the prescribed dosage and administering it in the morning only. It SEVERELY affected my sleep patterns. I slept for approximately 4.5 hours over a three day period. I literally thought I was going to go crazy. I stopped taking it after 4 days and within about 2 nights my sleeping was back to normal and anxiety level decreased significantly. Research this medication very carefully before you decide to take it! | F | 43 | 4 days 2X day | 4/24/2015 | 1 | severe allergies | Severe heart palpitations, severe anxiety, severe insomnia, severe fatigue, elevated my pulse rate into the high 90s even when resting | It did work great for my allergies but it felt like I was dying. | F | 52 | 4 days | 4/23/2015 | 1 | Nasal Congestion | Body aches, numbness, dizziness, light headedness, anxiety, panic attacks, upset stomach, weakness, fatigue | So most of my side effects are covered by the listed side effect of hypercortisolism, also known as cushings syndrome. Apparently it's possible the drug can get absorbed into your bloodstream or you can have a sensitivity to corticosteroids which can lead to an imbalance of your cortisol levels. Cortisol is what regulates stress levels in your body, which explains the anxiety and panic attacks. It can also cause joint pain and the other side effects I listed. Knowing what's going on was super helpful to me, so I just want to share in case it helps someone else who's feeling super uneasy in the future. It's pretty important that if you've been taking it for a while you don't just stop cold turkey from what I've read. Symptoms apparently can take up to a week or two to go away completely. It's been about a week since my last dose and I'm finally starting to feel pretty normal, but it's important that you take care of yourself as if you were sick - lots of fluids, etc. The half life of fluticasone propionate (the main ingredient of flonase) is 7.8 - 16 hours, so it can take 4-5 times that duration for it to work its way out of your system if you haven't been using it for a long time. If you're having anxiety, hang tight - it goes away! | M | 26 | 3 days 2 1X day | 4/23/2015 |
