1  Allergies Extreme migranes. Overall, it worked to clear up my nasal passages, but left me with awful migrane headaches after using it a couple weeks. Started out great, and now I get migranes. The headaches went away after discontinuing use. M 22 2 weeks

1  Eustachian Tube Problems nausea, abdominal pain, maybe contributed to hair loss I noticed no changes in my eustachian tubes. Noticed hair loss after 2 months of use. Nausea after a couple weeks. After ending use, nausea and abdominal pain disappeared. Going to dermatologist for hair loss to see if it's hereditary MPB or the flonase. M 29 3 months

1  sinus congestion heart racing, palpitations, anxiety, panic attacks, painfully dry nasal passages interesting that this is considered topical, therefore significant amounts do not get in the bloodstream. But how else do things enter the bloodstream (other than wounds) than via mucous membranes? A lot more of it gets in the bloodstream than it seems the medical community cares to admit. M 42 30 days

2  hay fever EXTREME BRUSING!! My five year old dughter has been on Flonase now for 2 months. Recently we noticed she has been bruising. It progressively got worse. So bad that her Dermatologist ordered a blood test to see what the heck was going on. The blood test was normal. Today she has even more bruises. She rode her horse for 5 minutes(something she always does) and almost immediately she had huge bruises on the inside of her knees. I thought holy cow, this has never happened. Her teacher asked me what she has been taking....I did not make the connection between Flonase and bruising. I investigated and found that it does cause bruising. I could understand SOME bruising. My beautiful daughter looks like I have been mistreating her! I will be pulling her off this medication immediatley! F 5 2 months

2  Seasonal allergies Extreme fatigue, especially when waking up Flonase helps wrt running nose, itch eyes, et al. But, it has introduced this new element of fatigue that seems to be worse than the allergies. I will try it for a couple of more days and will discontinue if joint aches and fatigue continue.  3  Sinus Congestion (VasoMotor Rhin.) Extreme acid reflux I have used Flonase successfully in the past before. I recently ended a round of Augmentin and subsequent ibuprofin therapy for some inflamed neck muscles, so I'm not sure Flonase is THE cause of my reflux, but it has certainly contributed. I had eliminated all other reflux-causers (including coffee! waaah!) and was beginning to feel fine until I did one spray of Flonase this morning and the reflux was almost instant. F 39 28 days

3  seasonal allergy I've suddenly become aggressive at work and a coworker suggested it might be the Flonase I just started using. I decided to do some research online and the comments on this website have convinced me he may be right and it may also be the cause of my recent increasing anxiety and sudden fatigue even though I'm getting plenty of rest. I've also noticed my body seems to feel revved up for an hour or two after taking it, hard to describe, like feeling stressed physically and emotionally with no apparent cause. I can't comment on it's effectiveness since I was told to start using it before pollen allergy hit me this spring. I'm going to quit using it to see if the fatigue and mood problems resolve. If they do then it's the generic form of Clariton for me. It works well enough for me without side effects. F 43 7 days

2  Sinus pressure Migrane. Holy cow! After two uses, I developed the worst migrane, couldn't sleep and was irritable. Unless you cannot breathe- at all- I wouldn't recommend. Especially after reading the other comments here. F 35 2 days

5  A Sinus Problem Slim to none. I think my boogers were thicker after I blew my nose using the product. Nothing weird like I've been reading O_O It worked for me. Sorry it doesn't work for a large portion of you :( M 15 1 years

2  Nasal Allergies Dry nose, sores inside the nose. It did dry up the mucous, but did not do much for the swollen nasal tissue. It had a minimal effect on my (in)ability to breathe well through my nose, even after several months. I've tried other corticosteroid nasal sprays, and have found them to be ineffective as well.  4  Allergies After 3 years of daily usage, I've started having some blood when I blow my nose. May be source of increased blood pressure causing hypertension. Fantastic results. I had SEVERE allergies to dogs, dust and many grasses. Now I have no allegy symptoms when I visit a home with a dog and have no issues with dust...incredible. M 42 3 years

5  Severe allergies Never a "nose bleed," but I experienced blood everyday when blowing my nose after using the product for a few months. This is truly an amazing product. The only allegery medicine that has EVER relieved my symptoms. I couple it w/ Claritin on days when I know I'll be around animals (Claritin for itchy eyes); however, I've had to cut back my usage b/c of the bleeding in the nose. F 22 8 months

3  Alergies, stuff nose and sneezing It really worked and I was amazed at first. I started to get bloody mucus when I blew my nose. Today I blew my nose and blood started pouring out of my nose. I think I am going to stop. It was a lot of blood and it scared me for a second. M 30 2 months

1  Stubborn sinus infection Almost immediately I experienced wild mood swings. Shortly after that my resting heart rates shot up to 110 bpm and I started having heart arrhythmias. Soon thereafter I was feeling weak and very fatigued. I looked up the side effects for Flonase online, found the symptoms I was experiencing among them, and stopped using the Flonase. Within 24 hours all of the symptoms except the tiredness resolved. The concept that inhaled steroids are only topical is nonsense in light of the fact there is now an inhaled version of insulin. Whatever goes into your nose enters your entire system. Plus, the olfactory bulb (how you smell) is the only organ in the entire body that's directly hard-wired into the brain. This means that what's inhaled into your nose has to have a direct effect on the brain. Time to rethink inhaled nasal steroids for sinus congestion and allergic rhinitis. F 46 6 weeks

3  ear congestion migraine-like headaches, dryness of nose and eyes i was doing two sprays per nostril each day. maybe i should have just done one, as each day i was getting some awful headaches. i discontinued, and i no longer have the headaches. the nasal dryness continued up until yesterday, but it is improving. also, my eustachian tube feels like it's almost back to normal. i'm not sure if the flonase actually helped, or if it just got better on its own.  3  seasonal allergies I was diagnosed with cataracts 7 months ago at age 48, and had my first one removed last month. Because they grew rapidly , my opthamologist asked me if I took medication containing steroids. I don't use Flonase regularly, but have used it irregularly for years. F 48 2 years

2  indoor allergies Nose bleeds, migraines, bad taste in mouth and throat, veritgo Worked great for about 4 months, then decreased effectiveness. I am highly allergic to antihistamines in drugs like sudafed and claritin, so the Dr. prescribed this in hopes it would cut the number of sinus cases I had down. Unfortunately, I stopped using it when the migraines were constant. F 23 1 years

2  sinus swelling and post nasal drip I have taken for 4-5 months. I have had to go to the eye dr. two times(extremely dry, irritated, and painful eyes and blurring vision due to it) and to the ER for eye problems 2 times. I also had a bleed/hemmorage in my eye. After reading this site I think much of what I attributed to poor health was related to this drug. I thought I was developing a hormonal problem and can relate to almost every terrible symptom listed here by others. On the other hand, it DID help me breath through my nose. I stopped taking it two days ago and feel like withdrawl. The benefits are far not worth taking it for me. I also started to get a strange smell that has already went away. With the post nasal drip it made it thicker and I would cough/choke more often. Like I said, the mentions of mood swings, agitation, and everything here coincides with me taking this drug. I even asked the Dr who prescribed it ( a first year fellow who said it should not have these side effects. So I kept taking it.) I really think there should be more awareness regarding the side effects of this drug because it seems some doctors are even not much aware of it. F 31 4 months
