2  Allergies Insomnia and high blood pressure. Earlier this year I took it for over a month and started noticing that I had trouble sleeping. I felt like I was half asleep half awake all night. I would go to work tired and be tired all day. I would take naps in my truck during lunch which helped. I stopped taking it and my sleep returned to normal. I've been taking Ambien for another problem for 6 months now. After this, I started taking Flonase again for allergies. It's been 5 weeks and the past week has been bad. I'm taking Ambien so I do sleep at night but the next day, I feel like I don't sleep at all! So I'm thinking, the Ambien puts me to sleep but the corticosteroid doesn't let me enter a deep sleep enough to feel rested. The bad thing is since I'm on Ambien, I can't take naps during lunch anymore because my body is used to the Ambien. Also, at least the past week, my blood pressure has been high. I chatted with Walgreen's Pharmacists and they confirmed that the steroids from Flonase can get into your blood stream and accumulate in your system, as early as 2-3 after starting to take it. They said it can take about 2-3 days for it to fully leave your system. M 37 5 weeks

1  Seasonal Allergies Terrible head pressure and pain, dizziness, ringing and full feeling in ears, severe panic and anxiety attacks, racing heart, heaviness in chest, tired-felt flu-like This drug is awful! When Dr. prescribed it for my allergies, she did not warn me about these horrible side effects. After taking it for 10 days and having the above symptoms, I remembered Flonase is a steroid drug! I had these exact symptoms about a year and a half ago when dentist prescribed a steroid anti- inflammatory for an infection!! I put 2 and 2 together and decided I cannot take anything with a steroid! It has been placed in the garbage and no more Flonase for me! I hope it wears off quickly and I start to feel like myself again! So happy to have found this site and to read that hundreds of people have experienced the same thing. I really thought I was having a heart attack or going crazy! Think twice before taking this poison.... It should not be sold OTC!! F 59 2 weeks

1  Sinus infections (chronic) MIGRAINES - thought they were being kicked up by the sinus infection, but they were different than typical migraine headaches I deal with (I'm on daily meds for migraines & know how to mangage migraines): these have been constant, center of forehead. BURNING NOSE. Eye pressure. Upset stomach & cramps. Leg cramps & muscle aches. Sore throat. Symptoms all getting worse - I'm on antibiotics and I'm beginning to think I'm not getting better because of the Flonase! Won't be using this medication anymore! F 49 2 weeks

1  Persistent chronic dry cough Dizziness and shortness of breath. Went in for a chronic dry cough I've had since Dec 2015, in July. Doctor thought it could be post nasal drip and prescribed flonase nasal spray. Took it for the first time on a Tuesday, stopped taking in on Thursday and on Sunday (4 days later) I was in urgent care bc I couldn't breathe and had dizziness. I also had a tingly feeling in my face and some anxiety. It will be 2 months on September 21 and the shortness of breath and dizziness have worsened and have overshadowed my cough which is still there. My doc doubts it's flonase but all I had was a cough before taking that stuff. I've seen 3 pulmonary specialists and a neurologist. One pulmonary specialist said I'm perfectly fine and the other 2 pulmonary specialists say my breathing tests so signs of obstructive lung disease but I can't catch my breath (restrictive lung disease). I feel the opposite of the two!! They have no answers of relief for me, only inhalers after inhalers. I'm due to see the neurologist on Monday for some brain tests for my dizziness. Let's see what he says, probably nothing bc my head CT was perfectly fine too. I was a healthy, athletic, physically fit 30 year old male with a cough until I took flonase and now I can't breathe and I'm dizzy?!?!?! I have been restricted to my house, can't work and my life put on hold. How does this happen??? I was hoping for some light at the end of the tunnel by reading everyone's experience and now I'm not feeling so optimistic. M 30 3 days

1  Stuffy nose Massive anxiety, the worst dark depression, crying ALL the time, night sweats, suicidal thoughts, serialization, horrible insomnia, severe detached feeling, burning skin, number skin, metallic taste, vivid dreams, loss of appitite at first, fear, strange body pains and much much more. I took this medicine ONE time back in mid December and this is my follow up post. A lot of people it seems tend to start feeling better within a month of stopping. I however must be extra sensitive. U have never had issues with these other symptoms before with the exception to one other time I took a different medicarion. So I knew right away the cause this time. Knowing that and knowing I got better last time was the only thing that got me through this and kept me from getting on any other meds to try and stop the mental agony. The first 4 moths were pure hell. The steroid knocked my hormones off so badly I literally saw no end in sight. I did not know what was going to happen to me. But I stayed strong somehow. Then slowly the sleep started coming back..the night sweats stopped but anxiety, depression and mental stuff hung around but some days were better than others. I felt not even close to myself. Over the next few months I slowly slowly got better. Now nine months later I am amazed I survived. My remaining symptoms are bad strange dreams and feeling detached sometimes. I'm hoping that will feel 100% soon. My point of this follow is. HANG IN THERE. We all heal differently and some are way more sensitive. You are not crazy. I personally did not rely on meds or the doctor the doc did not believe me anyway. And drank NO alcohol the whole time. I took fish oil magnesium B12 and D3. Drank a lot of water. Tried to eat healthy and stayed away from sugar especially at first. Ju F 31 1 days

1  Allergies Extreme anxiety and panic attacks. Twitching under my eye. Tingling and numbness in my left arm and leg My doctor put me on Singulair and Flonase together. I thought my anxiety was from the Singulair because it's listed as a side effect. I quit taking both however just to clear my system. I felt completely normal again after about 2 weeks so I started taking just the Flonase again. It's been 2 days, and I can feel the anxiety coming back. This should really be listed as a possible side effect. F 45 4 months

1  post nasal drip Massive muscle cramps, runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes, and itchy all over. This is second time I have used this drug. It was precribed for me for post nasal drip from allergies both times. First time several years ago. I started having debilitating muscle cramps, mostly from my back around to front along my ribcage. And I mean cramps so bad I can't move! Also, runny nose, itchy eyes and feeling itchy all over! I didn't connect it to the flonase until I remembered going through the same type of thing when I used it before. I didn't realize what was causing the sudden bout of cramps the first time but I do now! F 61 15 days

1  allergies Omg. I have an appointment with ENT specialist next week, was in a panic. I have melanoma, so when my face started hurting like I'd been hit with a ball bat, & my head hurt, it scared me. My eyes are blood red and burn, light hurts my eyes, I feel exhausted, can't sleep, and I'm so hot, running a low grade fever. I can't believe it's legal to sell a drug like this. F 56 10 days

1  nasal passage completely blocked On second day, lost my appetite and had insomnia. I felt like I had too much coffee. Also lost my balance and fell. It took me most of a day to figure out what was causing the insomnia because I did not find it on the official side effects. I have already taken the medication today and worry about not sleeping tonight. I will not take it again. Even though I took it only in the morning, I could not sleep all night. F 64 3 days

1  Seasonal allergies My sinuses became infected shortly after my initial use of Flonase and continued until I ceased the use of Flonase.
