Took it early this morning and was fuzzy and sick all day, thought it was worsining sinus stuff. Drove home and almost had to pull over and call for a ride home. Blurry, out of it, bad drunk feeling. I almost went to the ER I felt so suddenly ill but made it home. Found these side effects lists and holy crap, in the garbage this goes. Scary. I still hadn't linked Flonase to my panic attack. Since the blood in my nose didn't go away, I started searching in Google about the relationship between Flonase and bloody noses. When I typed "Does Fonase cause", one choice was "Does Flonase cause anxiety" and another was "Does Flonase cause panic attacks". I read up on some reviews about others who've had panic attacks while taking Flonase. It finally clicked that Flonase was to blame for my recent anxiety and panic attacks. After first dose, my heart was racing and then I had multiple palpitations. By day 5 my throat was so sore I couldn't even swallow, and then a white pus pocket appeared in the back of my bright red throat. I have lost my sense of taste and smell. I sleep great at night but my dizziness and fatigue kinda lasts all day. Anyone else go threw this? Was wondering how long it took to fully get the medicine out of their system and when they felt completely back to normal. While I did have some initial success with Flonase clearing my sinuses, I began to suffer from extreme dryness-leading to cracking and open sores in the sinus membranes. I was taking this medicine along with Allegra D. I had previously used a nasal spray for my allergies (Zetonna) and experienced no side effects and it worked well for my allergies. However upon the first day using fluticasone I felt a tingling on my lips/chin. After the 4th day I felt my face was itchy and irritated and I started breaking out on my cheeks. My chin has bumps and my cheeks feel itchy still. She's been using it now for 7 years. For years she benefitted with relief from nasal swelling and itching, and no more runny noses. Then just last year, after 6 years of use, my daughter started having frequent nose bleeds. That lasted about 6 months, then subsided a little with the use of a nasal moisturizing gel. Then, in the last 3 months she's been getting these sores in her nose that won't heal. The sores inevitably become infected because they just NEVER go away, so we've been back and forth to the doctor for different solutions. Shes been on three courses of antibiotics and tried at least 4 different creams/gels. I wish we'd known to be more cautious with Flonase. It really shouldn't be used as a daily maintenance drug, indefinitely. Our Dr gave us no limitations for the length of use for this drug and brushed aside my questions and concerns, saying it was safe for long-term use. The studies that I could find online for "long-term use" were for no longer than 6 months! | F | 6 | 7 years 50 mcg | 8/24/2014 | 2 | Nasal congestion | Began waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning feeling short of breath. Got worse as I continued Flonase and began to occur during the day as well. Problem stopped when I stopped the medication.
