RATING | REASON | SIDE EFFECTS FOR FLONASE | COMMENTS | SEX | AGE | DURATION/ DOSAGE | DATE ADDED |
1 | nasal congestion | Intense anxiety, heart palpitations, rapid heart beat, vertigo, sore throat, digestion problems, headache, depression, brain fog, frequent urination. | Im sure there are more side effects I experienced but I can't quite think of them all. This awful drug had me messed up and I'm still recovering from it. Dr. prescribed it for nasal congestion and fluid in my ears. One spray in each nostril 2 times a day. Took it for about a week before I realized it was causing these problems. Its been 3 days since ive stopped using it and im feeling better but not 100%. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG!!! Id rather be congested than ever deal with these effects again. | M | 32 | 5 days 2X day | 5/13/2022 | 1 | Allergies | I experienced insomnia, depression, horrible anxiety, paranoia and nightmares, body shaking , loss of appetite, dry mouth, sore throat. Worst drug I have ever taken. I can't believe anxiety is not mentioned on the side effect information the drug comes with. I can imagine people commit suicide taking Flonase if they don't realize that's where their anxiety is coming from and all they need to do it stop taking it. It takes time to recover from Flonase. I took it on and off not realizing it's causing my anxiety. The recovery was slowly about 3 weeks I saw real improvements but still slightly anxious sometimes. Then I took it again because my allergies drove me crazy. However this time I suspected that Flonase caused my anxiety and I only took it twice before I found this site with the reports. STAY AWAY from FLONASE! | F | 56 | 100 days 1X day | 5/9/2022 | 1 | Allergies | Took Flonase and within two hours of taking it I had lost smell and taste. That was almost two days ago and it has not returned. Causing stress and worry now. | M | 44 | 1 days 30 2X day | 4/23/2022 | 2 | spring allergies | anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, nightmares | flonase works for allergies fairly well BUT after only a few days i was having trouble sleeping and being awoken with small panic attacks. these were like adrenaline jolts that startled me awake then i was fine but it would happen again 15 minutes later or so. im not a stranger to adrenaline jolts they happened to me when i was abusing stimulants aswell but they are pretty uncomfortable. it would also give nightmares and other general bad sleep symptoms such as waking up with palpitations and heart racing though my heart was never racing that fast (maybe 80bpm) thats still way faster than a resting heart rate. Do not recommend this..as i said im used to these side effects from stimulant abuse in my past but i can see how if youve never experienced them before they could be very unnerving. | M | 31 | 5 days 50mcg 1X day | 4/8/2022 | 1 | Nasal congestion and allergies | Anxiety, panic, restlessness | I think this stuff is the cause of my increased anxiety. Nearly had a panic attack at the gym today and I haven't had a panic attack in years. I was able to shake off the panic attack and continue on but it was rough. Definitely going to stop taking this stuff. | M | 28 | 2 days 2 sprays 1X day | 4/8/2022 | 1 | Nasal Allergies | Anxiety, Depression, Depersonalization, Existential Dread, Intrusive Thoughts | If you have any of the symptoms I have listed here, remove Flonase from your regimen. It has been a horrifyingly negative experience for me, and I cannot express this clearly enough: it caused a harrowing crisis for me and intrusive thoughts about death that would not go away. I know, I know: something as simple as an allergy medication should not cause such upheaval, but I assure you: fluticasone did. | M | 39 | 3 months 50 MG 1X day | 4/7/2022 | 1 | Yes | Heart palpitations landed me in the ER twice before concluding it may the fluticasone causing them. They wake me up in the middle of the night and keep me awake for hours. My blood pressure also went up. All started within a few weeks of regular use. | Grateful that others have posted their similar experiences here. | M | 60 | 6 weeks 1X day | 4/3/2022 | 1 | Sinuses | Heart papaltations, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, hands tingle, nausea, diarrhea, dizzy, | Can someone please email me and tell me how long this takes to leave my system. I only took it three days But I am struggling!! | F | 31 | 3 days 2pumps 1X day | 3/28/2022 | 1 | Allergies | Has anyone gotten extreme numbness and heavy limbs? It feels like my body is under sedation at night when I'm trying to sleep. My body will wake me up with this weird, heavy feeling in my chest and arms. I'm also having burning and tingling sensations in my finger tips and toes. | Can anyone please reach out to me if you've experienced these same sensations? | F | 31 | 6 days 1X day | 3/28/2022 | 1 | Post nasal drip | I started taking Flonase the beginning of January 2022 and developed terrible symptoms about 2 weeks in. Awoke with a panic attack one night and literally could not catch my breath. I could feel my heart pounding, nausea and tightness in my chest. I also had weird, crazy dreams while on Flonase. I stopped February 5/22 but continued to have anxiety and chest tightness. My symptoms were worse late afternoon until bedtime. I was short of breath with any exertion. Gradually I started feeling better after about 5 weeks after stopping the medication and now after 6.5 weeks I am thankfully feeling much better. I will never take nasal steroid spray again. It completely ruined 3 months of my life. | F | 60 | 1 months 1X day | 3/28/2022 | 1 | Sinuses | EXTREME ANXIETY, heart papaltations, dizzy, nausea, head feels funny, tingling in hands and feet, insomnia | I started taking for sinuses and ended up in the ER thinking I was dying. They done a full work up and couldn't find anything wrong. It wasn't until I got home that I thought what if it's the Flonase. I googled and found so many others going through the same thing!! | F | 32 | 3 days ? 1X day | 3/27/2022 | 1 | Allergies | Panic attacks, derealization, heart palpitations, pressure in sinuses, headache, pins and needles, numbness, vertigo, insomnia, muscle weakness. | I was taking Flonase off and on for months and never made the connection until now. Its been 6 days since my last dose and Im still experiencing some (but not all) of these symptoms. Can anyone email or post on here how long their symptoms lasted AFTER stopping? I think that would be really helpful for a lot of people experiencing this. | F | 31 | 5 months 1X day | 3/22/2022 | 1 | Allergies | Chest tightness, uncontrollable shaking, sweating, cold clammy skin, dizziness, breathing issues, Insomnia, mania and irritability. | I stopped taking Flonase little over a week ago. It's been hell ever since went to the hospital wondering if I was having another heart attack thankfully it was not a heart attack oh my doctors looked at me like I was crazy but I know what it is it was this garbage medicine. In my opinion you should not be able to get this over the counter and your doctor should monitor their patients more closely. I called the FDA and reported all my problems. Do not take this medicine! | M | 56 | 2 years 2X day | 3/5/2022 | 1 | Post covid nasal congestion | My doctor proscribed fluticasone to help with my post covid nasal congestion and lack of smell and taste and brain fog, I was hopeful thinking it would help. He said to take before bed and I did the one spray each nostril I was fine until I went to sleep. My body kept waking me up every 10 minutes in a full blown panic attack feeling, I know it's hard to describe but as if my heart was stopping or something in my sleep and my body would freak out and wake me up and my heart would be pounding out of my chest. My body or brain honestly thought it was in danger of dying almost like a primitive instinct and I felt it when I woke up from a panic. I would wake up then calm down and fall asleep and it would happen again! My gf also said I was yelling in my sleep. I even felt like I had sleep paralysis a couple times being stuck in a dream but awake and yelling in my sleep. I have had prior anxiety most of my life, but I manage it and I know what to expect and what it feels like but this is not common with it. I stopped after 1 day and it never happened again. I was thinking that it was all in my head and im going nuts and that I made this happen to myself not the medicine, but after reading all these reviews I know it was the nasal spray and I completely understand you all and feel all your pain and suffering from this. I hope who ever reads this that it may help you and you're not alone a lot of us suffer from these triggers and it | M | 34 | 1 days 1X day | 3/2/2022 | 1 | Indoor allergies | Anxiety, depression, diarrhea, lightheaded, twitching in my left eye, muscle spasms | I was at my wits end with my allergies when my allergist told me to start using Flonase. After the first dose I noticed I felt light headed and anxious and also got diarrhea pretty much immediately, but figured maybe it was just my anxiety kicking in for some reason. I took it again the next day to see what would happen and it got worse and I developed a twitch in my left eye. I took it a third time, doubting myself again that it was just the allergy meds, and got diarrhea within 90 seconds of taking the medication and my anxiety sky rocketed for literally days and my eye was spasming nearly all the time. I decided after that dose, I will never take it again. The anxiety and twitching has subsided for the most part but not entirely, and tomorrow will be 7 days since my last dose. You couldn’t pay me any amount of money to take Flonase again. | F | 29 | 3 days 1X day | 2/22/2022 | 1 | Doctor recommended it. | I was using this product once per day two squirts in each nostril since 12-14-21. I have experienced severe Headaches nausea vertigo dizziness constipation and numbness in my legs and feet. Also Neck and back pain and tingling in the back of my head. I stopped using it nine days ago on 2-4 and I have the worst withdrawl symptoms imaginable. I do not know if I can get through this and I am thinking of going to the ER. I also have had light sensitivity and insomnia and I am only sleeping a couple of hours a night and I wake up with an unimaginable headache nauseous feeling and my feet and lower legs are numb. I feel off-balance and I stumble around like I am drunk. This is causing me severe panic attacks and anxiety. I only used one bottle over a seven weeks and it has ruined my life. I do not know if there is any relief in sight. I read it does something to the Cortisol level in your brain. If there is anyone who has experienced anything like this please email me how long it takes for the withdrawal symptoms to go away. When you tell this to the doctors they look at you like you are crazy they say it is safe with no side effects. As far as I am concerned this product should be taken off the market. Buyer and user beware! | M | 69 | 53 days 15.8 ml 1X day | 2/12/2022 | 1 | Cat Dander Allergy | Sleepless-ness, anxiety-weepy, heart palpitations, sinus and facial pressure, headache, general feeling of being off-center. | I was prescribed this medication to help with a newly-developed allergy to my new cat. It helped with the post-nasal drip that led to a nuisance cough, but after six months of use, I'm a bigger mess now then I was before starting this. My eyes are red, and my head feels pressure. I thought this was the right choice to alleviate my symptoms, but am stopping use, now, and feel fortunate to have found this site, noting from others, that what I am experiencing is common. | F | 59 | 6 months 50 Mg per 1X day | 1/30/2022 | 1 | Vertigo | Do not take this medicine! Had bad panic attacks and also heart palpitations. | F | 68 | 3 days 1X day | 1/1/2022 | 1 | Blocked ears | Dry eyes and night mares | F | 66 | 4 days 2X day | 12/19/2021 | 1 | My sinus during COVID | This is a very scary drug that appears innocent but IS NOT!!!! It was given to me by my doc for my sinus during covid infection. Big mistake!! After my second time using it I began to feel strange, light headed, not what you want to add to covid! Woke up at night freaking out, measured my oxygen and pulse as you would if sick with covid and pulse was low and oxygen extremely high which is strange. My heart felt like it was gonna pop, I wanted to faint and vomit and was so scarred and uneasy. I had dealt great with covid and this stuff almost made me run to the ER in the middle of the night!!! DO NOT use this horrible drug !!!!!! One day later I'm cleared from covid and still shook up from this crap, hoping tonight isn't anything like the last!!! Oh yeah and although my sense of smell was fine during covid I lost it the second I tried this med the first time !!!! Garbage | M | 40 | 2 days 50mcg 1X day | 12/7/2021 |
