I can talk without sounding sick all of the time. This is a great drug that has improved my quality of life. F 23 30 days

1  Allergies This worked very well for me for awhile but I began having unexpected anxiety attacks, shaking and tension, rapid pulse, skin crawling, back pain, nausea, terrible chronic insomnia, etc. I was prescribed antidepressants but the symptoms continued I stopped taking Flonase due to allergy season ending and noticed a concurrent improvement in my other symptoms but I took just a small dose last night (2 sprays) due to stuffiness/itching. I began to breathe more easily but later on I was unable to sleep, highly anxious, shaking, and nauseated, which led me to find this site M 25 4 years

3  Sinus congestion Some blood in mucus after blowing nose. Dry eyes. Occasional, but annoying eyelid tremor in left eye that started after using Flonase for 2 months (2 puffs each nostril per day). I've stopped using Flonase for nearly a week now. Instead, I use a simple saline nasal spray, or sometimes a nasal flush (NeilMed Sinus Rinse), to clear my sinus congestion. Now the blood in mucus is nearly gone. So far, the eyelid tremors have continued; but I'm hoping they are related to the Flonase and will diminish now that I've stopped using it. M 64 3 months

3  sinus headache intermittant dizziness, strange feeling in throat, increased anxiety- but not debilitating Had horrible sinus/migrane issues that were unmanagable. Take allegra, singulair and flonase and the headaches finally stop. Not sure what medicine is repsonsible for what side effect- but they exist in whatever combination of meds I take and my horrible headache symptoms only go away when I am on all three meds.  5  Allergic Rhinitis (SEVERE) No side effects that I am aware of. I've been taking Flonase for 10 years (most of that time in combination w/a pill like Bromfed or Dallergy), and it has worked miracles for me. I went from having severe allergy attacks once a month to none at all. Unfortunately, my allergist has told me that this long-term steroid use isn't good for me, and he is switching me to Astelin. I will miss this product, as it worked without fail. F 25 10 years

1  Sinusitis Infections After using five years had sudden, heavy nasal hemorrhage from broken artery in facial/nasal area requiring surgery to correct. Surgeon said, "I do a couple of these a month from drug side effects like Flonase using steroids." Also suffer from acute anxiety and fatigue that seem to be related to this drug as well. Product does a good job of clearing up sinus problems, but other meds do that too. Flonase has too many dangerous side effects to justify long term use. M 65 5 years

3  Allergies Increased anxiety, nightmares, especially just before waking up, inability to get back to sleep. When I took Flonase a few years ago, my heart would race and pound at random times during the day. I found it very effective in restoring my sense of smell and taste, especially in combination with loratadine (10mg daily). It's a shame it has these side effects, because it really increased my enjoyment of food. No doctor warned me of possible side effects. M 39 1 months

4  Nasal Congestion, polyps, allergies Until reading the postings on this site I was attributing my side effects to just getting older. I've noticed that my eyesight is getting worse, it tends to get blurry at times, however my eyesight checks out fine. Continuously hungry, which I'm wondering if the steroid has anything to do with. Mild stomach pain. Joint pains. Mood swings, feeling of anger which I've never experience before. Until reading similar postings, I wasn't aware that there were so man side effects. It is funny that I didn't have these problems (which are similar to many other's on this site) until I started using Flosnase. Now that I think back more and more, I think this might be the dang cause of other issues. I'm going to stop using it for a few months and see what happens since we are moving into the winter time with less allergy issues. M 33 1 years

1  congestion migraines, pulsing headaches in temples, anxiety, unable to sleep soundly, bruising I was prescribed Flonase when I had a sinus infection that triggered a migraine. After starting the prescription, I started having migraines a couple of times a week. I'd never had migraines that often before. I couldn't sleep well, and was constantly exhausted. In the morning, I would get pulsing headaches in my temples right after I took Flonase. Also noticed strange bruising. I've gone off Flonase and the morning headaches are gone, no migraines since I stopped, and I am sleeping normally again. I won't use Flonase again. F 35 4 months

5  Sinus Infections Reoccuring Side effects are clear sinuses! Really besides nasal cavaties being a little dryer, nothing much. Dont use at night though, as it is a steroid and will keep u up all throughout the night! Flonase has been a real keeper. In the last six years i have been getting alot of sinus infections due. My doctors have always told me to use it, but i never listened until i got really sick recently. Ever since ive actually used it, it has worked wonders letting me breath through my nose instead of waking up with plugged sinuses. Truley a miracle! M 18 29 days

4  Sinus Infections After 10yrs on and off and only using when stuffed up: NONE. My sinus infections were so bad at points that I could not taste food. My cause turned out to be surfing in polluted waters and this product has helped me a lot. M 27 10 years

4  Trouble breathing clear at sleep Wow. Okay. Things are making sense now. I started using flonase due to night congestion. It works well for that and I could sleep better. BUT, Now it makes sense why I developed a sleep anxiety. I became very anxious after taking it at night. I would stay awake four hours into my sleep. I also strongly feel this medication created a contact dermatitis condition. I'm once again going to try stopping this medication because now the blurred vision has increased, also the weight gain. People like me must make the pharmaceutical companies happy, but I'm changing that. I took the Flonase, that led to anxiety. To deal with the anxiety, I then started taking Ambien. To deal with the histamine thing that somehow this stuff brought on, i then started taking Zyrtec. So there I was, taking $150 dollars of meds a month, becoming a fat, blurred vision zombie, and not really dealing with the problem. I'm just going to lose weight and vacuum the dust at home, that helps my night breathing more than anything. If I have to, I'll just buy a CPAP machine, at least it's not chemical. M 45 1 years

1  Stuffy nose caused by allergies Cataracts, blurred vision, bloody nose, weight problems, lack of energy and headaches. Flonase works well to open the sinus cavities to make breathing easier. However, it is addictive and after using it for quite a few years without being concerned about what the drug may be doing to the rest of my body (since it allowed me to breath through my nose easier), I have begun to encounter medical problems that potentially may be related to the drug. Initially I used the drug quite sparingly, possibly two or three times per week. This past year, however, I began using it every day in the am and pm and that's when my problems started -- weight gain, blurred vision, headaches and cataracts (that just developed in the past six months). Since my problems are representative of aging, I would not have thought that they may be side effects of using Flonase. However, due to the direct correlation between increased usage and my sudden medical issues, Flonase must be considered as a possible cause. I am extremely active, and spend at least 2 hours per day working out in our health c M 61 5 years

3  Allergy Bizarre sense of "unreality"; anxiety; insomnia; vivid nightmares; some bleeding in nose It seems to work great for stopping the itchy throat and eyes and nasal drip, BUT it's not worth the side effects. F 37 3 days

3  Sinus headaches, nasal inflammation Dry eyes, slight headache, occasional sore throat I just did a google on "Flonase anxiety" because the past two days I've been in what feels like a nearly continuous anxiety attack and the Flonase use is relatively new. I am shocked to see others have had anxiety possibly related to Flonase. It has helped my sinus headaches, but its definitely not worth this. F 43 7 days

2  Chronic Stuffy Nose - Left Side My observations have been that since taking Flonase 3-4 months now, except 30 minutes directly after dosage, most of the time the mucus in my nose and back of my throat is thicker and I have had a constant weepy left eye for 3 weeks now and possibly, not sure about this, have a constant pain at a specific spot in my spine with no doctor explanation. I will no longer be using this product. F 46 100 days
