3  fluid in ears anxiety, sleeplessness and dizziness The last two nights I didn't sleep well and I felt a little dizzy today, but I didn't attribute it to the Flonase. Then tonight I feel SO anxious and it occurred to me it could be caused by Flonase. I think it is the cause of my sleeplessness and anxiety; I am unsure about the dizziness. F 54 7 days

1  Deviated septum nasal congestion I cannot believe that it took me this long to find this site. I've taken Flonase daily for almost two years off and on for allergies. I've been to every doctor I could find and I've basically experience almost all of the side effects that folks here are talking about. Anxiety, heart palpitations, muscle aches and severe neck pain. Dizziness vertigo, loss of smell and taste. Have had every test under the sun to rule out brain tumor and stroke. I cannot believe that this is the first time reading this as I could have reduced my anxiety by a factor of 100! Do not take this drug. I F 43 2 years

3  allergic rhinitis...severe congesti I have paroxysmal atrial fib and the doctor told me flonase will be fine no side effects whatsoever...my heartbeat is irregular and racing....I was on heavy steroids for one year due to a kidney nephrotic syndrome my kidneys weren't working I never slept maybe one hour a night...it was horrible but it didn't make my heart race like this medicine ...how can the doctors tell you there are no side effects... I will tell him to go on the site and look at the thousands of people having racing hearts..they really try to treat you like you're off the wall....it's all in your head ...well All he has to say is some people might have a reaction.....I mean it cleared out my nose but with my irregular heartbeats I guess its not worth it it could be dangerous F 61 3 days

3  Allergies Extreme non-rash related itching all over my body. I would not recommend this product for allergies. Stick with over the counter pills such as Claritin, Benedryl, or Allegra. Flonase causes extreme itching. Feels like you have hives. I'm not sure which ingredient causes this but this is my second time trying Flonase and I had the same itching side effect both times.  1  Respiratory infection/allergies I was prescribed for an upper respiratory infection. I started getting painful sores on the side of my tongue. Then my throat was very sore, swollen gland. My teeth/guns hurt. My mouth is so swollen I have huge bite marks along the insides of my cheeks and lips. I have a lump in my throat and feel like I'm constantly choking. I cough all the time. My throat and tongue feels as dry as a desert and no amount of fluids helps relieve it. My tongue is white and furry looking. I got some thrush in my throat. I have heart racing abs panic attacks. I've been to the ER a couple of times. I feel dehydrated. I have tingling in my feet and hands. I started snoring. I wake up with a racing heart. This has gone on for over 2 months after stopping Flonase. It has caused a terrible reaction in my system. My ENT is doing a scope to investigate further tomorrow. This drug is terrible!!! DO NOT USE THIS!!!! F 48 2 weeks

1  Sinus congestion I have bipolar 2 and I'm on meds for that. I didn't consult with my psychologist due to visit costs so I relied on the drugs website and didn't google it. However, this drug should come with a warning not to take if you have psychological or emotional illness. Since taking Flonase my panic disorder has re-emerged: can't feel my legs and feel detached from my legs and body. I have tripled my anti anxiety meds since I've been taking Flonase. My mood has been more depressed then usual and I'm extremely tired! I started crying the other day for no reason and told my husband I wanted to go to the hospital. In 30 years of dealing with bipolar not once have I acted like that. I'm also very airy headed: can't remember words or train of thought. My husband is talking to me and literally I can't follow the conversation -- again not something I've experienced before. It has increased my cycling and moodiness and most dangerously- suicidal idealization. I stopped taking this today after I read your posts. Thank you, you all literally could have saved my life. Should include Mental Health Warning F 58 2 weeks

1  nasal allergy problems this website has been a lifesaver for me. i've been using flonase off & on for about a year, in which time i've ended up in the ER 3 times for shortness of breath, & 1 of those times, i thought i was having a heart attack also. the ER docs dismissed my breathing difficulties, implying it was in my head, & the heart doctor said i had a healthy heart. i'm a fairly healthy person, even at 65, but only this morning did i begin to suspect flonase as the root cause of my increasing health problems, esp. difficulty in breathing. i've experienced sleeplessness to the point of having to use zquil just to be able to sleep. indigestion, itchiness, muscle pain in my arms, tightness in my chest, nasal passages more stuffy, fatigue, & recently nausea & nosebleeds have been additional symptoms from using flonase. i've had to use benadryl more frequently & also use pro-air for shortness of breath. using flonase has caused me to needlessly have to visit my general practi it's been a hard year of health problems, all of which i can now say with certainty has been from using flonase. prior to a year ago, i used afrin with no problems.  3  Extreme sinus congestion Headache, sharp pain in my head, tingling and numbness in my arms and legs, tightness in my chest, fatigue, dizziness, anxiety, and sudden panic attacks. Worked great, finally was able to breath for once. Shortly after the first month of taking this daily, I started to notice more and more health issues poping up out of nowhere. I went to the ER after having what I thought was a heart attack, but tests came back normal. After doing my own research, and thankfully finding this site, I stopped taking Flonase. It's been 3 days since my last dose, and I would say about 50% of all side effects have gone away. Still having dizziness and headaches, but hopefully the rest go away shortly. I would strongly suggest you pay attention to any changes while taking this drug, and stop immediately if you notice any side effects... Should not be OTC. M 39 2 months

5  Allergies, chronic rhinitis NONE! I've tried many strategies for chronic, acute allergies over 30 years, and Flonase is the most effective yet. I avoid all meds unless absolutely necessary because everything has side effects, but congestion and sneezing wrecked my quality of life. Flonase works. I will update my review if side effects develop, but after reading all these terrible reviews, I thought it would be helpful to post a positive result. I'm only 8 days into daily sprays, but I'm sleeping and breathing better than I have in a long, long time. I've tried neti pots, Benedryl, pseudoephedrine, Claritin, Afrin, NasalCrom and more. Flonase has proven most effective, and no side effects yet. M 62 8 days
