1  nasal congestion, seasonal allergies Elevated blood pressure, irritability, vertigo, blurred vision, headache, leg cramps, nausea, confusion I was happy at first when I started Flonase when my congestion cleared, and I could breathe through my nose for the first time in years. After the first week my health deteriorated. I noticed the strength of my reading glasses wear no longer strong enough, but didn't think too much of it and figured I needed to go up a prescription. Next my vision became so blurry, it was hard to use my cellphone most days. I was constantly in a fog and dizzy. The final blow was my blood pressure skyrocketing to 165/110 at work and feeling like I needed to go to the E.R. I had a stroke in my 30's and felt like I was having TIA attacks. After three days of insane blood pressure spikes it FINALLY dawned on me it was the Flonase. I stopped the Flonase and my blood pressure came back down to 110/72. I thought I was going to stroke out on this stuff. NEVER AGAIN! Lot's of pressure in my head, confusion, vertigo, and anger! I'm usually a laid back person, but this drug made me angry and my body temperature always felt like I was burning up. Awful experience. F 49 3 weeks

3  ENT perscribed - Sinus issues Mostly Dizziness and Leg cramping Flonase really helped me the first week clear my nose and help me breathe. I was diagnosed with a deviated septum and my ENT suggested I take this as an alternative to surgery. Now on to my second week and I am back to congestion, sneezing, watery eyes etc.. and added dizziness and leg cramping. After researching and learning that there are MANY side effects, I have now made the decision to stop taking this drug. F 2 weeks

3  ENT suggested for Sinus issues Mostly Dizziness and Leg cramping I have a deviated septum. My ENT suggested I take this to see if this could be an alternative to surgery. The first week I began having leg cramping but did not connect it with a possible Flonase side effect until now. Although Flonase did help me a great deal the first week, the second week I am back to congestion, sneezing, watery eyes etc.. and a additional side effect of Dizziness. I got so dizzy that I almost passed out. After researching and learning that there are MANY people with these strange side effects, I've made the decision to stop taking this drug. F 2 weeks

1  Allergy This is hell. Depression, suicidal thoughts, inhibited thinking, anxiety, constant crying, total poor memory. I used the spray only 2 week and was restored after 3 month! I read that such problems exist in people with bipolar disorder, but I've never had this before. M 28 2 weeks

1  prescribed for sinus infection I was prescribed Flonase for a sinus infection, but stopped taking it after a few days because something just didn't feel right. After reading the other comments, I consider myself fortunate: I only developed phantosmia -- I smell gasoline all the time, wherever I am. It's been about a month now, and I really hope it goes away some day soon. 68

1  Sinus infection Lost my sense of smell and taste on 2nd day of taking Flonase . Could not even smell bleach. Stopped using it after 7 days after I googled Flonase and found many people who experienced the same. Taste and smell began coming back slowly, was able to smell perfume and could taste foods with strong taste. I hope to recover fully because I’ve read about people who never got their senses back. Will never take again!!! F 55 7 days

1  Eustachian tube issues HORRIBLE raging anxiety. Almost went to ER. HEADACHES, upper teeth soreness, depression, the list goes on. HORRID insomnia. Lack of appetite. Stomach in knots. Took it for 5 days. Stopped this morning thankfully. Kept me up all night. I haven’t slept more then 2-3 hours in the last three days. Do not take this medicine especially if you’re prone to being nervous. Hoping and praying this passes quickly. F 26 5 days

1  Sinus infection Day 1.Immediate sneezing and runny nose after 1 hour extreme aggitation, extreme irritability, rapid breathing, anxiety, inability to cope properly with minor irritations and events, sensitivity to noise, glassy eyes, headache, tingling around jaw and neck, itchy neck and head, general confusion, brain fog, Day 2 same results. I was prescribed flonase along with prednisone, amoxi clav and benzonatate for a sinus infection that developed following an upper respiratory virus. Day 1. I took all medicines at the same time so i was nit sure if it was the flonase that was causing the problem. On Day 2 I deliberately took the flonase first and waited to ingest anything else. The side effects were immediate and sever and lasted for hours. I dose in each nostril was all it took to completely throw my body (and mind) in a frenzy. I am all done with this drug. It may work for some people , but for those who are sensitive to its ingredients, it is a nightmare. F 51 2 days

1  to aid clearing ear infection Extremely irritated and painful sinuses, severe headache, burning eyes, jaw and tooth pain, foggy brain, fatigue and general malaise. My doctor prescribed Flonase to me to help clear up an ear infection. It was so irritating to use but I continued for several days to see if the effectiveness would help alleviate the pressure in my ear. The pain and side effects caused me to stop using the nasal spray as it almost felt like I was being poisoned by the spray. I came down with a severe migraine, sinus pain and bone pain in my jaw. My teeth even hurt. The worst part of taking this medication is remembering that my young kids had also been prescribed this at one time or another in their childhoods for various allergy issues! I can understand why they refused to take it now! I don't know what is in this stuff but I will never, ever take it again. I am so sorry to see that there are so many others out there with similar or worse reactions. Heaven only knows what the heck is in this stuff. F 62 6 days

1  Eustacian Tube Dysfunction Blurred vision, visual snow, muscle aches/cramps/spasms in legs, co-ordination problems, problems focusing eyes, motion sickness, vertigo, heart issues, very bad anxiety, headaches. I'm coming up to my 3rd week off Flonase and I can confidently say this should NEVER be prescribed. I have had anxiety so bad I couldn't leave my house. My legs were spasming so bad they hurt like mad. Vertigo. Still have migraine every day. I now have visual snow every day (so so horrible) STILL after 3 weeks! Too scared to drive. Very low thoughts. Dizziness. This stuff is the devil and has ruined me. At age 26! I am still not feeling back to normal, but I hope one day soon I will. F 26 3 months

1  sinus and ear congestion At first everything seemed fine but after about 6 months of continued use I started to feel awful. I thought there was something very wrong with me. I was lethargic, tired, a bit disconnected and then I started to have daily low-grade headaches. I surely thought I had something terribly wrong with me. I lost a lot of energy for life. Life was work. My naps were long and when I woke up I still did not feel refreshed. I just wanted to feel like me again!!!! Every week that went by I felt more tired. A friend suggested I research flonase and I found so many comments on some sites that I could have written. I stopped taking it and 3 days later NO headache and major increase in energy level. I felt like me - no need for naps, 2 mile walks again, getting things done I left undone for months. It was NOT depression since that is not something I have ever experienced, it was not a major health issue, it was FLONASE!!! M 65 1 years

1  Sinus congestion Flushed face, extreme anxiety, shaking, dizzy, fatigue. Insomnia. Weird pressure in nose, hot flashes. Eye twitching..eyes itchy and watery. Blurred vision. Mood swings. Hot face without fever. Weird pains in legs/arms. I was told by a doctor to try this to help. I was also on doxycycline, prednisone for 5 days and I had no idea it was the flonase and possibly prednisone making me feel this way. Its been two weeks since I stopped all other meds and still used flonase. Noticed things were not right so I immediately stopped. F 27 15 days

5  Runny nose, sneezing Difficulty falling asleep It's a foolproof way for me to fight fall season ragweed. Although it would be easy to take it longer I take a minimum dose and often need no more than 4 days. Also I've learned if I give up all dairy and sugar for the preceeding 1-2 mos I can skip entire seasons of allergy symptoms! Stress also directly related. F 57 7 days
