1  Sinus headaches Terrible insomnia. I couldn't figure out what was causing my mind to race and my heart rate to skyrocket at night, so I was taking all sorts of medication to put me to sleep. I was miserable because I was so sleep deprived, and terrified that I'd either never sleep again or become addicted to prescription sleeping pills. I finally realized the Flonase was causing my sleep problems. I stopped taking it and haven't had any problems sleeping since. If you suddenly can't sleep, consider that this drug may be the problem.  1  Fluid in ear, allergies Anxiety, panic, depression, throat issues. I've experienced anxiety and panic attacks before, but not for over 5 years. I've had it totally under control using various coping mechanisms, exercise, etc. When I started using Flonase, my anxiety became worse than I have EVER experienced. Constant sense of doom and irrational fear. My health deteriorated in various ways since I had no appetite and was constantly very physically stressed. My throat was dry and irritated, my neck muscles tensed so much it caused constant pain. A swollen lymph node led me to see multiple doctors and get an ultrasound, convinced I had cancer. I started to feel extremely depressed and cried multiple times daily (I have never, ever been like this). My partner talked to me one day about how I hadn't been myself, and I wondered about the Flonase. Googled and immediately stopped using - within 3 days or so I felt much better. For anyone wondering if these are all real reviews, I wondered the same. I am a real person, and Flonase literally derailed my life for a month. I'm not exaggerating at all. I will remember that month for the rest of my life. The whole thing was a blur and I'm still working on getting back on my feet. DO NOT USE this medicine especially if you are prone to anxiety. If you feel you can handle it, BE CAREFUL, as it is hard to think rationally about why you're panicking when you are already panicking. And yes, it F 27 1 months

1  Recommended for middle ear infection I have always been even keel when it comes to stress. This stuff left me with anxiety through the roof, pacing, explosive temper tantrums and literally feeling like I was going to die. My blood pressure shot through the roof as well. I seriously considered getting psychiatric help until I looked up the side effects online. It turned me into another person until I stopped. I'm glad I didn't kill myself or someone else.  1  Allergies Facial swelling, eye soreness, muscle aches, extreme fatigue, nausea, dry/sore nose and throat. I took this once, JUST ONCE, and it has completely thrown every bit of me off. I recently got a puppy and got Flonase thinking it'll be an easy once a day spray to relieve allergies, and that it did. I'll give it that, HOWEVER, the side effects, and now withdrawal symptoms I'm dealing with are not worth it. The night I took it for the first time I woke up in the middle of the night with the worst chills! The next day I felt terrible! With all the side effects I previously mentioned. I did not take it anymore and it's been 4 days since I took it and I'm dealing with withdrawal symptoms from just one dose four days ago!! Extreme dizziness, loss of smell and taste, burning nose, facial and neck swelling. This is not safe to be sold OTC!! I so wish I would've seen these reviews before taking it. F 26 1 days

1  For post-nasal drip This medication was prescribed to me in the ER for post-nasal drip with asthma flare-up. It caused severe anxiety leading to multiple panic attacks due to feelings of chest tightness, chest pain, and shortness of breath leading me to return to the ER 2 more times with fear that I was having a heart attack. All of my labs and chest xrays came back normal and the ER doc said it was the steroid in the nasal spray that caused my symptoms leading to the panic attack. I also had psychosis which caused feelings of not being in reality/dissociation along with inability to focus on anything, inability to comprehend any material that I attempted to read even though it was the same subject material I had been reading up to the point of taking the Flonase. The bodily sypmtoms were extremely uncomfortable and rendered me unable to function normally for 4 days. This makes me very angry and ready to call a lawyer for I should not have to pay for additional ER visits because of the side effects of this DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY.  2  Sinus issues, allergies Anger, irritability, mood swings anxiety, heightened depression. Stuff works as intended just makes me feel like absolute anxious crap. Plus my anger was through the roof. The fast acting spray and the sensimist both are equally the same in side effects. My doc is an ignorant asshole and thinks it's all in my head. Yea doc, it's the flonase in my head. M 38 12 days

1  Seasonal Allergies I am so thankful for coming across this site. Like many others I thought I was losing my mind. I used it daily for three weeks. After about two weeks I started to have heart palpitations, extreme anxiety, panic attacks in the middle of the night waking me from my sleep, neck felt heavy, painful lymph nodes in my upper neck, nausea, acid reflux / indigestion and a jittering jaw. None of which I had prior. I would literally start crying hysterically and not understand what was triggering it. I am usually calm and collected, my husband wondered if I was having a nervous breakdown! I had not started anything new except the Flonase. Once I found this site I immediately stopped the Flonase. It has been 9 days since my last dose, I am feeling much better. I would say an 80% improvement at this point, still experiencing slight heart palpitations and jittery jaw. I have even quit coffee to help with the heart palpitations. Sadly it really helped my allergies, but I will NEVER use this again. There should be a warning about these potential side effects! Good luck it does seem to slowly get better once stopping. Would NOT recommend. F 38 21 days

5  Chronic allergic sinusitis None Has been an extremely positive experience. The chronic sinusitis has resolved, I can breathe through my nose, no snoring and no insomnia!! I am so thankful for this medication. I was also having mouth pain that no one could figure out and it turned out to be related to my sinuses being so swollen for years. The mouth pain is gone. I had pain every day for years!! F 47 4 months

1  Allergies I also want to add, if the anxiety is making you lose it, try a reputable brand of CBD oil. If you've never used it before, start with just a drop or two. Also, natural calm magnesium powder (find it at health stores) can help take the edge off. Ollys sleep gummies helped with the worst of my insomnia the first few weeks. Keep pushing through it and don't give up! Remember, this is not forever. 30 21 days

1  Allergies To anyone struggling with the effects/withdrawal of this "medicine" please get yourself to and endocrinologist! After 4 ER trips, I was finally referred to one and told the flonase gave me a slight case of Cushing's syndrome. My high cortisol has been making me sick as a dog and like I was going crazy. But I'm NOT going crazy and neither are you! This steroid has made you sick. I've been pushing through it for a month, it is hard, but it does gradually get better. Can't tell you how nice it is to have a dr tell you it won't last forever! Don't give up! You can be yourself again!!!! This sh** won't stay in your system forever, even if it seems like it. All natural meds like melatonin, Ashwagandha, and magnesium have helped me the most. 30 21 days

1  Congestion from allergies Worst experience of my life. I started it and it really helped with my congestion. After a couple of weeks things got really bad. Horrible anxiety and panicked attacks, dizziness, shaking, pressure in my face to the point I would have trouble talking. Had tingling in my lips and horrible thoughts. After reading all of the post I finally figured out what was going on and I was not losing my mind. I stopped cold turkey a week ago and I am having horrible withdrawal symptoms. Still dizzy, weird muscle aches, depression and sweats and insomnia. I so hope this ends soon and is not permanent. It has been a very horrible situation from an over the counter allergy medication. FLONASE SHOULD BE BANNED IMMEDIATELY. Do not take this medication. F 47 30 days

1  Allergies Anxiety Chest pain I posted here a year ago , same situation as many of you. I wanted to give an update , Dr. Visits did not help since they will deny Flonase can cause any anxiety but it was a good idea to make sure nothing else was going on like heart problems ect. My recommendation is get blood work to first make sure everything is ok , once the doctor says you are healthy then do light Excercise each day and light yoga , try to decrease your stress , stop overthinking the symptoms and stop thinking it could be anything else. Stop telling your family and friends about it because you will continue to think of it. The moment I decided I was just going to live with it that moment foward it decreased significantly. Within a year I don't really get any anxiety anymore. I also recommend counseling but just once every two weeks. That gives you a chance to vent and discuss anything that can also contribute. 28 10 days

3  Nasal congestion/eustachian tube dysfunction First couple of days, I was really tired after taking it, but that went away. After a month and a half, I developed serious gastritis/nausea/abdominal pain, daily tension headaches, constant anxiety and muscle tension, throat irritation, and daily pain in my right eye. I like that it helps my allergies and eustachian tube dysfunction, but the long-term side effects aren't worth it. Will only be using this sparingly for short periods of time from now on.
