2  Sinus pain Increase in anxiety and panic attacks, achy joints and limited body movement, out of breath, dizziness, and feelings of anger. I didn't realize this had a steroid in it until my body started aching, just as it had when I was on Advair. A doctor told me how terrible steroidal drugs are on your body and we pieced together all the new symptoms I had been having. I was heading down that same path quickly with Flonase. In addition, I have been extremely agitated and angry - not to mention my anxiety level has been through the roof. Not sure the drug helped my sinus pain yet - but the side effects are too much.  2  nasal congestion due to allergies The first a.m. after taking it I had a slight sore throat, after second time my sore throat was worse and felt slightly achy, headache. Felt better last night, used it again, and woke up in the middle of the night, congested, achy, headache, coughing, nasal passages swollen, chest burning. Not sure if I'm coming down with the flu/cold or a reaction. Seems too coincidental. Felt fantastic before I used it. My DR. advised me to stop using it and see how I feel. I'll update this again.  2  Sinusitus COMPLETE LOSS OF TASTE AND SMELL! I'm SO upset - I'm the type of person who LOVES food - I "live to eat" and not eat to live. This is PURE TORTURE for me. I couldn't me more upset or depressed about the food / taste aspect of this side affect. Horrible. Does ANYONE have ANY history of how long it will take for me to get my taste back????  1  Allergies Severe anxiety, shortness of breath. I was rushed to the hospital because i experienced weakness in my arms and legs and pressure in my chest. My bloodpressure was 194/102. The hospital ran tests and didn't find anything wrong with my heart. The only thing that had changed in my life was the flonase. I will never take this medication again. F 55 3 days

1  Sinus congestion. Headache, nausea, vomiting, dry heaves. Took the generic last night for the first time, 50mg 2x per nostril. Woke up with horrible headache that got worse as the day wore on. Constant nausea, mild to severe in intensity. Vomiting and dry heaves. Couldn't even keep water down. Most symptoms cleared in about 12 hours. I will never put this in my body again!! Pass the Kleenex, I'll keep my congestion! M 39 1 days

5  Allergies Jittery feeling. Nosebleeds. The jittery feeling was helped by taking Flonase before bed; I've found that it doesn't impact my sleep. The nosebleeds started only recently. Although I'm pretty sure the Flonase is causing them, my allergy symptoms start up again within a day or two of stopping the medication. The nosebleeds have not been significant enough for me to stop taking Flonase. The bleeds have become less frequent now that I have been running a humidifier 24/7, using a saline nasal spray, and swabbing the inside of my nose with Aquaphor ointment. I like Flonase because it is a more localized medication: it does most of its work right where the symptoms are. I do not respond well to antihistamines (they make me drowsy and shaky), so Flonase has been a Godsend. F 23 1 years

1  Clogged ears, sinus pressure The day after I started taking Flonase, I had a very dramatic appetite loss. I love food, and for me not to want any at all is very strange. I also started taking Sudafed, so when I complained to my ENT that I had loss of appetite, he blamed it on Sudafed. Only problem is that I stopped taking Sudafed and nausea still persists. In addition to nausea, 3 days ago I developed a diarrhea and high anxiety. To the point that I woke up in the morning in panic, already twitching. The cherry on top is when I blew my nose, there was blood and mucus in it. Great. I completely stopped taking all meds except Flonase. Perhaps it is some other underlying condition. But I did not have a bloody nose, loss of appetite or diarrhea 2 weeks ago. And now I have them all. In 2 days I have another ENT appointment and I am going to tell him I can't take this anymore. While I stopped sneezing altogether, the side effects are too much to handle. F 27 15 days

1  Chronic allergies (non-seasonal) - A different kind of headache than I've ever had, almost like sinus pressure but without congestion. Quite irritating and it made me dizzy. - Nausea without vomiting - General feeling of being top heavy, almost as if my allergies moved into the top of my head - Sudden manifestation of panic disorder (7 diagnostic criteria) I would say my experience is consistent with the reports of others and that this should be considered an adverse reaction to the medication. I discontinued Flonase and experienced an immediate relief of symptoms. A few days later I did an experiment, after having no reaction symptoms I took a normal dose in the morning on a random day, three separate times... and my symptoms returned within 3 hours each time.  3  seasonal allergies At first it was great. But after the first week started feeling very dizzy. Vertigo. By the 4th week I noticed I had one pupil significantly more dilated than the other. Ended up in the ER. Later figured out it must have been from this inhaler as it was the only thing I had done differently. I decided that was not a normal reaction so I discontinued. has anyone else experienced uneven pupil dilation from this drug? F 32 30 days

1  sinusitis and allergy to dust adrenal suppression including severe joint pain throughout body, extreme fatigue, weight gain, v dry skin and in poor condition, wheat sensitivity, eye pain and dryness, hypothyroid symptoms This drug has ruined my life.My GP refused to believe anything was wrong with me and told me it was simply my age.My thyroid test came back normal and she refused to acknowledge such a thing as adrenal fatigue/suppression. I had to cope on my own with incredibly severe symptoms eventually using vitamins and mineral supplementation after being denied help from my GP over a long period of time.I was recently diagnosed with early breast cancer. Before taking this drug I was extremely healthy apart from the sinus problems and a few years later my health fell apart. Please email me if you have had similar chronic side effects or if you ended up with breast cancer. F 54 4 years

1  alergies / hayfever 1) Sudden increase in weight (5 lbs in 3 days). 2) Increase in blood pressure 131/93 (was 117/75). 3) Chronic nose bleeds. 4) Strong metallic taste in mouth. 5) Headaches. Essentially, the side effects were pretty hard to take with this medication. Having previously used Nasonex, I had none of these side effects. The reason for switching from Nasonex to Flonase is that Flonase now has a generic equivalent and therefore is more cost effective, but based on the side effects I will be resuming my usage of Nasonex. Flonase is pretty bad. M 57 14 days

3  Flonase Joint pain and insomnia, lack of sense of smell I didn't connect the joint pain and insomnia to the flonase for a long time until I noticed that the pain and insomnia came and went as I started and stopped the flonase. I am now trying switching to some other medication for my allergic rhinitis. I think my sense of smell may be gone forever partly from flonase partly from years of allergic rhinitis. F 60 4 years
