My stomach pain is so unbearable and gets worse when i eat. I also feel strange and a bit weak, I am only 39 years old and have never had such terrible stomach pain. The past 3 1/2 years I have been on Fosamax have been a nightmare, but I did not relate any of my medical problems to this drug until I read these ratings. I have had severe chest pain and jaw pain that wound me up in a cardiologist office with a thyllium stress test and arteriogram - diagnosis: no heart problems showed up. Severe pain in right leg and lower back, MRI of the lower back and x-rays of the right leg showed up zero. Pain so severe in right leg - unable to sleep due to the severity of the back pain and leg cramps particularly in the right leg - pain so severe I was barely able to get around. my doctor said - you need to exercise! How? I could barely walk - could not get out of a chair without almost crying - my doctor finally said he could find no test to establish the back up he needed to help me - and referred me to an orthopaedic doctor. I also lost 3 of my bottom teeth and I had to have $4500 wort | If any of the other drugs prescribed for osteoporosis are anything like this one, I don't recommend taking it - find a regimen that you can live with after your body has had time to recuperate and heal. I would get slightly dizzy at the beginning. After 4 months, I was getting so bad I almost fell twice in the shower. I went to my doctor, who took me off Fosamax and gave me a prescription for 25mg Meclizine, which is for vertigo. It helps a little but hasn't cleared up totally. She also examined me for ear problems and anything else that may have caused this, but didn't find any. I have tried to analyze if anything else could have caused this problem, but haven't come up with any other reason other than this all started when I started taking the Fosamax. | I would NOT recommend this to anyone, unless you are in desparate need of it. Ask your doctor if you can take Vitamin D and Calcium instead. Also, weight bearing excercises can help in some instances. The study done by the company says that this medicine does not cause dizziness. Well, I know for a fact that this is wrong, and I wish I would have followed my instict and not taken it. The stuff is poison. It does not build new bone, it retains old, dead, brittle bone so, yes, the bone density test shows improved bone mass.
