Having been diagnosed with A.Fib about four years ago, I decided that this may be connected to the Fosamax. Since the end of April when I quit taking this drug, I have had very little episodes of A.Fib - at least a 90% drop in symptoms. I don`t think this is a coincidence. About a year later, I started experiencing stiffness in the hip and shoulder areas. Decided I needed more exercise, but that made it worse. Simple bending and moving became a chore. In fact, the soreness and stiffness made it difficult to get out of bed or a chair after sitting for 20 or so minutes. The doctor diagnosed it as polymyalgia, and he put me on prednisone.
