I'm also having a libido problem (depression, not pill related) that I don't want to exacerbate so I think I'm going to switch to Ortho Tri-Cyclen. Everyone talked about it due to the fact that it would be less likely to cause weight gain. The pills I had been on were Necon, Ortho Cyclen, and Desogen. I couldnt seem to ever lose weight and keep it off and it was so frustrating. I tried every new fad diet that had ever hit the news with no luck. This Yasmin turned into a miracle for me. I rapidly lost 20 pounds and have kept it off the whole 2 years. Ive lost an extra 10 more lately. I just dont seem to crave food like I use to on the other pills. | I am fixen to start the new Yaz thats the lower dose form of yasmin due to the fact that I have problems with headaches during the placebo week on pills. Now things are much better! Aside from 1 instance of leg swelling and leg cramps every once in a while everything is back to normal and actually better than before! My doctor put on Yasmin to help control my PCOS and I think it's doing a great job. It's now a little easier to lose weight, my skin is improving lots, the hair on my head has stopped falling out at a rapid rate, the hair everywhere on my body is a lot finer and not so thick... the improvements go on and on! I'm so happy I'm on Yasmin now, I wish I would have been started on it sooner. | Okay... the sex drive thing is TRUE! But sometimes it's mind over matter and you can over come the lack of a sex drive. Just try to relax, do some meditation, have fun and bust out the lubricant if you have to. Hahaha! I have been spotting/staining all month and have had cramps as well. I feel bloated and also have leg cramps. Unable to climax. I breastfed and had the Mirena for about a year and was totally dry vaginally and had little sex drive. I had them take out the Mirena because I thought the localized Progestrin was the problem. The doctor put me on the Yasmin for birth control. I had never taken it prior to this. I've been on it for about 6 months. | My sexual dryness and lack of libido still have not cleared, and after coming here, I see that perhaps it is the Yasmin. Also, I have a history of clinical depression, and I have had a recurrence since being on Yasmin, so maybe it is the cause of that, too. I guess this could all be coincidental, but it seems unlikely. Slowly gained 15 pounds (I exercise and eat right). Now panic attacks. I'm told I have no heart problems so this is what they are? I'm a wreck and feel brain dead most days. Mood swings: a few hours elated, then 2-3 days way down. Somehow symptoms creep up on me. Am I now bipolar?! I love my husband but have no sex drive. I'd rather sleep! I used to be so energetic and fun. Now, I constantly worry about irrational things-someone's going to steal my daughter or someone's tailgaiting and trying to kill me? I was taking estrostep fe and I gained 15 lbs (at least) and was very depressed at the start.I got acne and terrible cramps neither of which I had before. There were no other side effects for the first 2 - 3 months. Once I reached the end of the third month and the begining of the 4th - everything changed. I started having headaches - anytime I felt any type of pain or ache I would throw myself into a panic attack - these were almost uncontrolable until I realized what was happening. Nothin' like taking a prescription to treat a prescription. yuck.
