| 1 | birth control | Constantly crying, sad, anger, snappy, tired, no sex drive at all!!! I just feel so low and cannot control my crying. | I told my doctor that I thought the regular yasmin was making me cranky, so she switched me to the lower dosage. I have been on it for 3 weeks and it has been hell! I feel so sad and down all the time and I cannot focus and I snap at people all the time. It is awful. I have never felt like this in my life! I am a teacher and the other day I could not stop crying in front of my second grade students. As of today I am not taking this pill anymore!!!! I am so happy that I found this website. My mom is bipoloar and I was starting to think that I was having those symptoms until I read this site. I have felt some chest tightness and heart racing...but not sure if that's from a bad bronchitis-like cold I have right now. I don't feel depressed like I did on Nuvaring so that's a good sign, and my skin has been better. I do feel like my sex drive has decreased. My doctor didn't tell me to go off it, but I did because after reading other people's symptoms I felt it was related. The next test he did five or six days off of it came back ok. It has been one week since I have been off it & I am just starting to get back to normal, but I still feel a little hazy/foggy. I really do not like this pill and am switching after 2 months. No bloating or weight gain, or breast tenderness...BUT a very long period and ZERO sex drive. This drug actually altered my nerve response such that intimate activity does nothing for me at all. And I have been with my husband for over 8 years and all the normal tricks that usually work just don't on this pill. It has been horrible. | I guess it's like you hear about Yasmin, you either love it or you hate it. I very much disliked it. I don't like the weird pill schedule either (24 active pills instead of 21). Instead of your period coming during the week, it comes on the weekend and lasts through the next week. I hope this has not done any permanent damage to me. Oh, also, if you like to take Advil don't take this form of progestin.
