| 5 | avoid pregnancy | The first week I would get sick to my stomach and dizzy from not drinking enough fluids. Closer to my period my breast were tender. I lost about 10 lbs and my skin cleared up!My sex drive didn't change at all! But I do get sick to my stomach a few days before my period but no too bad. The periods are shorter and lighter and very slight cramping! I love it! | I love yasmin. However, after those first three months I noticed a slight weight gain of 7lbs even though my training has hardly decreased, I am also on a strict diet. The worst side effect has to be the mild depression. I have never been sad a day in my life now I can hardly make it through a day without crying. I have been on Yasmin I believe about 3 years. I am educated in the insurance industry, so I should have known better. I really thought I was going crazy. I get terrible headaches, muscle stiffness, nausea, exhaustion, and I have gained weight. I also have issues with severe anxiety and wake up in a panic sweating at times. I got hot flashes out of the blue. I have come to the conclusion I need to be off of this pill immediately and I believe that I will start to feel better. It sure did, I was a horrible person constantly and not myself. It wasn't until the 4th month the side effects got extreamly bad and I was falling asleep at work and couldn't get out of bed. After reading reviews on this site, we connected all my symptons and stopped it straight away. The difference in my personality was amazing, and we were shocked to see how much it effected me without even realising. I am about to try out the NuvaRing, however skeptical with that as I was told it has the same hormones in it, just in lower doses. However on the good side, a friend of my has had a fantastic experience with Yasmin with no side effects. My adivse to other's who are researching this to try, is that different people do react differently, and it's worth giving anything offered a go. I did very well on Yasmin - though I did gain weight (about 10-15 lbs over 7 months) I did feel like I was never quite full. Before Yasmin my libdo was out of control right before my periods and I suffered horrible pmdd, yasmine helped with this. I switced because 7 months into trinorinyl i was breaking out really bad. Yasmin has helped with the breakouts. One thing i noticed is that i feel very out of place, and sometimes depressed. I am usually a happy energetic person, but this pill has made me sluggish, and its hard for me to concentrate at school. not to mention, sometimes my i feel my heart beating alittle fast. I think 3 months is a good trial period for birth control. The thing is, I'm thinking of quitting altogether because the depression is screwing up my life.
