Rash resembling Redman Syndrome, which is caused by excessive release of histamine from mast cells. | My RA had been very well controlled by Enbrel for 9 years with minimal side effects. My insurance required that I do a Humira trial before they would continue to pay for Enbrel. It has been over a month since my last dose of Humira, I am starting to feel the R.A. becoming active again and am worried about what is next. I have an appointment with Rhuematologist on Monday, to try to figure something out. | This put my R.A. into remission for 6+ years, with no side effects until the end. I wish I knew then what know now...that an anti inflammatory diet works wonders for autoimmune diease. My arthritis is cleared from the diet but I am disabled bc of the infection caused by humira. I had to stop Cimzia in April due to an allergic rash. I took the first dose of Humira in the Rheum office two weeks ago. I felt fantastic the next day, like this was a miracle drug. The injection site started out small and itchy the next Saturday. Sunday evening I was in the ER for the worst burning stomach pains I could ever imagine. Then I developed a very bad forehead headache. Morphine in the er helped. The stomach continued for two days, but not nearly as bad. An EGD on Wednesday was normal. The headache was unbearable. An MRI was normal. Not sure if the humira was the cause but it could be | I had already decided to switch to a different drug when I found out the humira would put me in the Plan D donut hole and it would cost me $4500 for the remainder of this year and then it would start over.
