| 1 | Bacterial Pneumonia | Severe nausea, dizziness, feel completely out of it, depression | I have taken this before for pneumonia but have never had side effects like this. I can't eat, every time I try I vomit. The smell of food sends me to the bathroom. Diarrhea too. I feel so dizzy and out of it that it's freaking me out. I would t wish this on my worst enemy. Instantly had all the side effects from this anti biotic felt worse and it didn't seem to be shifting my cough that well after being on day four and extremely ill I rang the emergency line to be told their not the best but not the worst anti biotic to take and it's more likely viral symptoms even though I had none of the above before taking the medicine only the awful cough. Told to continue the dose and still use home remedies I found paracetamol helped with these alittle... And to go back to the doctors if it persists to possibly change them but theirs not much luck of that with my local surgery always being out of spaces... Stomach felt upset for two days with sort of cramping pains but settled down after that and I had no more problems. I did take some Andrew's powder(antacid) a few times even though it said you should not combine antacid with erythromycin. It helped a lot for the first two days. I staggered the doses of 250mg by half an hour rather than take two at once every 4 hours, which seemed sensible considering the side effects. Thankfully, this drug worked well for me. I was initially put on amoxicillin but I was found to be allergic to it.....it brought me out in a sore red rash on the inner thighs, groin and buttocks.
