After 12 hours of taking the first dose, I started to be hit with the symptoms above. I was advised to stop taking both antibiotics and once the symptoms had stopped, I was told to continue with Erythromycin only. Two days after restarting the Erythromycin, the symptoms were back just as before and I've now had to come off of them completely, as they are making me feel too ill. I really don't understand how something that is supposed to make you feel better, ends up making you feel so much worse. And why have I been able to take them without any problems in the past, have changes been made to them in the lab? My dosage is 2g per day. First day was okay, apart from looser bowels, second day the same until late evening when I suddenly felt very unwell. I had palpitations, dizziness, chest pain, dry mouth, pins and needles and was very restless. I work in a doctors, and just felt something was very wrong and reluctantly called an ambulance. Paramedics arrived and found my BP was very high (never before) and my heart rate was around 120, but my ECG was okay. They stayed for over an hour as they wanted to see if my BP and heart rates would drop, and were happy to leave me when my heart rate got to 102 and my BP was 178/108. I woke up this morning and felt very spaced out, lethargic and unwell, not like me at all. I will speak to a GP tomorrow to get an alternative as I've stopped taking this drug.
