By Tuesday evening I had severe stomach cramps and had horrific diahorrea. Next day diahorrea stopped but stomach cramps continued. Nausea and hunger pains come together. The best way to describe the effects is like a blender - Erythromycis speeds up your stomach's metabolism so you blend everything that's in your stomach and get rid of it quickly. I find it easiest and less painful/uncomfortable way to take it is if you eat a medium amound then wait 20mins or so and then take the tablet. I'm sure there were more that i felt to go along with it but the pains in my stomach is what sticks with me the most and it was enough to stop it right there. I ate lots of natural probiotic yoghurt and this may have have helped. I almost didn't stick with it but pleased I did as it seems to have killed off six weeks of bacterial tonsillitis which penicillin didn't. I didn't suffer with an upset stomach but did need the loo 3 times a day. A good clear out! I decided to stop taking it, I had a break for 2 days and started again. This time I had a meal before taking it, this idea was good and the infection went anyway. The infection came back after few weeks and I had to take it again. This time after the fourth day I have severe mouth ulcers and headaches, so I stopped taking it. The point is I am not sure if these symptoms have anything to do with the medicine, although these symptoms could be as a result of taking Erythromycin. The mouth ulcers were very bad I would not take it again. | It seems to work but at the cost of causing other health problems. I don't like any infection, so I have to take medication, but I want to be able to eat. Having mouth ulcer is so uncomfortable that you are not able to eat and you are in pain all day and night.
