| 2 | throat infection | diarrheoa, cant sleep, stomach cramps. | this is only my first day of taking it but ive had diarrheoa since the first tablet at 9 this morning, its now 5 in the morning and i cant sleep and have mild stomach cramps. | F | 18 | 7 days 250mg 4X day | 4/14/2010 | 1 | root canal | Had a root canal, first dose was to take 2 then 1 3x a day. Took the 2 at about 7pm. Woke up at about 1:30 am with shallow breathing, and heart palpitations. Woke up about 4 am felt better. Took morning dose about 7:30 am, felt the same but worse. Heart palpitations, this time though I felt like someone was standing on my chest. Went to sleep. Took afternoon dose back to the same, shallow breathing and this time I threw up. I did not take the evening dose. Slept through the night. I feel much better I will find an alternative to this med. I can't take penicillin due to allergies,so I am not sure what to take. | I am 50 years of age. I took this years ago when I was about 11-12 years of age and feeling like I was going crazy. I thought it was because I was sick. Thanks | F | 65 | 7 days 500mg 4X day | 3/12/2010 | 3 | Tonsillitis | Nausea, diarrhoea, stomach ache, constantly hungry, dizzy | I read on the packet that these antibiotics could give you diarrhoea but it's not until today that I've suffered from it and I'm on day 4 out of 7. However the first day I started taking them (Monday) I started at about lunchtime, went to work and was fine until it came near the end of my shift at 8pm and I felt really dizzy and sick like my blood sugar was low. Ever since then I've been feeling the same, more so in the late afternoon/evening as I think in the morning the antibiotics have a lower effect due to me not taking them in the night. I thought it was really strange to feel really hungry like I had an empty stomach and really sick at the same time, but then read that others have been feeling the same. I got that horrible taste in my mouth were you're going to throw up last night but didn't actually throw up thankfully. Having difficulty eating, unable to brush my teeth, and having difficult sleeping with pain. Have now finished course, and went back to GP who confirmed that these must be side-effects of the drug. Now have strong pain-killers to help with the pain caused by the ulcers and swollen gums. And the tonsillitis has not gone. I am also allergic to penicillin. By 4 hours later I was in so much pain I went to a medical clinic where they told me to drink a lot of fluid and eat lots of food to clear it out. An hour or two later it was so bad I went to the emergency room and they administered an IV pain killer a couple of times to take the pain away. I have had two babies and have never had such severe pain in my life.
