| 1 | Depression | Weight gain, heartburn, migraines, shakiness | I had high hopes for this med to be the one to work for me. I had a dna test to see what meds my body will respond well to and which meds to stay away from. Pristiq was the only one that came up for depression. The first month or two I had extreme nausea and dizziness and I hadnt seen a difference in my depression yet. My doc wanted to go up to 50mg but I wanted to wait. The dizziness and nausea got better so I went up to 50. Before taking pristiq I was on lexapro. It didnt help at all and made me gain some weight and caused me to get acne pretty bad. My doc said I shouldnt gain weight in pristiq. Before starting anti depressants I normally weighed between 120-125. I now weigh 157. I've cut a lot out of my diet, am eating less and eating healthier and am very active but still continuing to gain weight. This is something I have never struggled with before going on anti depressants. I meet with my med doc this week and will be asking how to get off of this med. I never had heartburn or migraines and get them frequently. I can feel the improvement in my mood I really don't wanna stop taking them but now I'm gonna have to go through the intense withdrawals because my body won't allow the pill to even start dissolving before it purges it. It knows these pills are damaging and killing my body. DO NOT. DO. NOT. TAKE THESE PILLS. I trusted the medical system and their judgement and im close to being admitted into a hospital. The gym reopened so it helps. But I have to loose the 60 pounds I took since the pandemic started. I lost 20 lbs but still have to loose. I have tried quite a few antidepressants and these side effects are pretty mild. I was feeling low and having symptoms like PMS every day. Taking estrogen has not helped , I think because it's such a low dose . Pristiq is a good medication for depression that makes you feel slow, heavy and tired . It hasn't made me anxious. | I have read some comments about withdrawals coming off this and other antidepressants. Your doctor can prescribe some medication to take for a short period of time to help with those symptoms. It really helped me getting off some migraine medication which had terrible withdrawals. One is Clonidine and the other is Hydroxyzine. First 4 weeks very noticeable difference in anxiety (health) for the good. It worked, finally I feel normal I thought to myself. Well it was short lived, I noticed in the beginning I was tired, but that's to be expected on meds. Been on Zoloft it pooped out, lexapro od on 20 mg . But only med I'm on is prestiq . Lately past couple weeks it's all went downhill. I am so jittery , exhausted, my stomach and intestines hurt at times. shoulders, overall achy, it's almost a chore working all day. I get home and I'm so tired but can't sleep, have 2 kids and a wife that I don't even want to talk to or be around. And I love them so much, I'm emotional, rage for no reason. Jittery, and can't seem to sit still , just scroll through channels on the tv for hours . I do clean my house all the time, not sure if that is a bad thing but comes in part with not being able to sit still . Can't focus on anything, don't care attitude. It's a terrible drug. My body twitches for no reason, scared to drive and don't want to leave the house . Almost scared to. So dizzy , feels like there's a wall in front of my brain, blurry vision and chest tightness. Check my pulse ox and blood pressure 10 times a day | Oh and the chills, can't seem to get warm. Some sweating episodes but mostly cold to the bone. Just a feel of dread , don't recommend.
