Called 911, Emt ran all kinds of tests and everything was normal, they asked me what meds I was on and I said none Bc I forgot I took Pepcid before dinner. They attributed the episode to anxiety. When I remembered I took it, I ran to Google to see if I was the only one with these side effects, but clearly I am not. Horrible drug. Almost a full 24 hours later and I still don't feel 100% like myself, but they say it stays in your system 24-36 hours....praying I feel normal tomorrow morning. I had been feeling bad for several weeks and knew something was wrong, but could not pin point it. I read with tears in my eyes and stopped taking and after only 48 hours I feel myself again. This stuff did not agree with me at all. I would rather have the heartburn! The ER doctor prescribed me FAMOTIDINE PEPCID. For the first couple of days it was working pretty well. It cleared my esophagus and I was able to eat again, but my appetite decreased. Followed all instructions of what foods to stay away from and began working out and was full of energy. Around the 6th day of consuming Pepcid, two hours later after taking the pill, I was at the local supermarket and began to feel extremely tired. I felt like crawling to my car and was feeling shaky, disconnected from reality, and mood change (feeling sad). When I got home and while resting on the couch I began to feel my hands tingling and felt extremely weak,low heart rate, then the worst came!!! I began to feel severe dizziness (head spinning) that I literally though I was going to collapse and die!!! This medication should be discontinued. He is greatly malnutritioned and needs healing and not things to make him worse. He started having bowel movements frequently, and then he seemed constipated with it. His heart rate would race and he would say, he had to have a bowel movement. His heart rate exceeded 150 and never had any problem like this before taking the med. The doctors were speaking about no resuscitation in the mist of giving it to him and moved him to a room where he had no monitoring of vital signs. They keep bringing up the no resuscitation and there is no need to keep doing that. It's very suspicious. It is so much to the story. Don't trust these doctors. When you begin to think reasonable, they get defensive and bothered. A lot of them are killers. | My dad had behavioral changes,he begin to get weaker in a already weakened state. Now a rash is forming under his eyes by his nose. The doctor was clueless to all of this.......but I know better. God led me to see everything wrong that they have been doing. They also prescribed him something called megestrol and he started experiencing shortness of breath and swole up his finger. Another side effect is diarrhea. Why would a doctor prescribe medicine to a weak and frail elderly person, with side effects to make them even weaker.
