| 4 | Sinus infection | Diarrhea first few days followed by bloating, cramping and general upset stomach. Painful headache. Flushed face and sweating. Lethargy. | My stomach has been the most affected by side effects. I'm on day 8/10 and I'm still having gas, bloating, cramping etc. I noticed a very intense headache that 600 mg of ibuprofen gets rid of. Also, I had this strange feeling like I suddenly had a fever that only lasted for an or two each day. Reading other comments, I think this must be due to the antiobiotic. My sinus infection is much better (not gone completely yet). The side effects would not stop me from taking it again. Severe sinus infections call for the big guns, and the stomach discomfort is nothing compared to the severe pain in my eyes and face I had from the infection. | F | 32 | 10 days | 6/14/2006 | 3 | dog bite | extreme fatigue, light headedness, nausea, depression, loose stools. It scared my kid, he called 911 because I couldn't catch my breath at times because I couldn't stop puking and gagging. This was my 2nd experience with this medication, though I didn't realize it before I took it. A year or two prior, an antibiotic taken caused the same exact problems but it was in the middle of the night and my child didn't see it. The results, onset, and duration were exactly alike, but I didn't have any medicine to help me (they called in phenergan). So, once I had the same reaction again, I called all around to find the previous doctor I'd seen 1 to 2 years prior and confirmed it was same medicine. They had to really search through some records, but they found a call from me one morning "panicked" over a reaction to the antibiotic. I'm not aware of any problems with other antibiotics or penicillins, but I definitely stay away from this one.
