For me it cause a very intense burning seneation for the first 24 hours to the point where i was almost crying... Hives have come and gone over the past five days, mostly on arms, chest, and groin area. Itchiness comes and goes during the day. Called my doctor and talked to the nurse, and she said these symptoms were likely due to the Augmentin. I asked why I didn't have immediate symptoms, instead after the course of treatment was completed? She said I may have developed a gradual intolerance to it. I have taken Augmentin in the past with no ill effects, so I guess my body has built up a gradual intolerance? She also said I could have intermittent periods of hives/itchiness for several weeks after?
