| 1 | probable infection in jaw | after 4th dose - extreme nausea and chest pain, dizzy, stomach pain, loose stools, itchy back, high blood pressure 148/100...Don't know if the pain and the tension from so much pain elevated b/p or the augmentin itself, but I've never had such high b/p ever. | Had throbbing pain in jaw along with cracked tooth. Oral surgeon extracted tooth but jaw pain didn't go away. Pain has been in jaw 1 month. Oral surgeon prescribed augmentin due to possible infection in bone. After 4th dose (all taken with a full meal), the symptoms started. Went to ER thought I was having a heart attack because I felt so bad. Had full battery of tests and heart is okay. Blood work was good. ER doc said blood work shows no sign of infection. She felt along jaw and had me open and close mouth and believes pain is from TMJ - my jaw is out of alignment. I can feel it after she showed me how, so went through a full day of misery and ER expenses to find out never needed the augmentin anyway. My advise - ask for an alternate antibiotic.
