| 1 | back/muscle ache | Within 30 minutes of taking 1 Aleve with a full stomach, had just had lunch, my hands and feet started itchin and my face was becoming swollen and red. My hands began swelling. Took two benadryl within 45 min. of first taking aleve and ran to doctor. They held me there for 2 hours. Here is a list of all my symptons. My entire body was blood red, itching all over my body incluing my head, face swelling including lips, hands swelling, my blood pressure rose to 148/88 and it is always around 100/70,my heart was pounding as if it was about to come out of my chest, shaking constantly, after doctor gave me a shot ( a steroid of some kind) and held me for 2 hours to monitor my breathing, which stayed o.k. despite me having asthma, she let me go. i then had to take 1 more benadryl that evening and in the early mornings and I am on two days more on Zyrtec. This shot should last for about 2 weeks she said. That evening, so 6 hours after the 1 pill of aleve, I felt as if I had a bad sunbu | I had taken Aleve before and have never been allergic to anything. I was shocked and my doctor said just because someone isn't allergic one time or 100 times, doesn't mean it can't happen. | F | 48 | 1 days | 11/11/2006 | 1 | back pain | I took 2 aleve every day for 2 months for back pain. Last weekend, I began spitting up blood and had bloody stool. After my second blood transfusion, the doctor ordered me to never take it again. | I don't recommend this for long-term use and strongly discuss these concerns with your doctor if he tries to prescribe it. However, it did take care of the pain. | I will never take this med again. Naproxen sodium is definitely not my friend. Marketing/manufacturing really should consider not making this an OTC med. I never had a reaction to any OTC so this scared me enough to go to the ER. It took 2 days for all the swelling to go away. | Aleve did not reduce my pain. The red patches on my skin would stop swelling and itching, but they never went away, after more than a year the purple-ish patches are still there. But the last 3 times I have taken this drug my left eyelid swelled and I got a huge blister on the top. It always occurred in the same place on the same eyelid. But, it worked so well for the pain I tried to take it with an antihistime, but the same thing occurred. I will never take this drug again for fear each time it may get worse. I think it could be life threatening in some people.
