| 1 | Pain | Hives from scalp to soles of feet. Turned bright red, airway >50% closed, HR was 160 on presentation to ER. The hives burned and itched - had them in my ears, all mucosal surfaces. Lips and mouth swollen and tingly. | Took the Naproxen for some post-op pain and experienced the above symptoms. Had to go to the ER for IV methylprednisolone (Solu-medrol) and diphenhydramine (Benadryl), as well as an H-2 blocker (Pepcid). Couldn't figure out what caused the anaphylaxis until I took 220mg of naproxen today for a back ache and experienced the same symptoms. I need to know more about this medication to continue to take, even if this is an OTC product. | It worked well at 220mg/day dose for pain for 4 months. But I need to confirm the possible alergic reaction for further use. On the 11th day, I noticed a few bumps on my arm, thought they were bug bites. A few hours later I had bumps on both arms and on back and stomach. I went to the clinic at work and was given prednisone pills and clariton. I blamed this attack on Estroven Supplement I had taken for only 2 days. The next day I was fine but did not take my usual morning aleve pill. The next day I took one Aleve before leaving for work. On my drive to work, my hand started itching and turning red. Then my arms and legs started itching. Looked in the mirrow and saw my neck and chest were beet red. Turned around and drove straight to doctor. By the time I arrived at doctor, I was itching all over my body and it was completely unbearable. My arms were swollen into huge welps and my body itched all over. He gave me a shot of prednisone and 2 shots of adreneline. Thankfully, the itching subsided. After reading the postings on this site and read | Do not take this drug.
