Caused an allergic reaction that gave me a moderately severe case of hives (7 on a scale of 1-10) on my arms, legs and back. My hands and fingers swelled to the size of catcher's mitts and remained that way for three days. Thankfully, my face and throat were never affected, and I never had a problem breathing. However, the itching on my arms, palms and fingers was virtually unbearable!! I'd rather be subjected to the Chinese Water Torture than experience itching like that again. A day after the breakout, I took OTC Benadryl, Claritan and an anti-fungal spray to help relive the itching, along with placing cold compresses on my hands and arms when the itching was at its worse, which was every few hours or so over a period of three days. The OTCs helped only midly, but were better than doing nothing. Finally, after three or four days of intolerable itching, the hives and the swelling went away. Aleve is the firs | Take with extreme caution. Aleve is an excellent painkilling med if you're not allergic to it. When I noticed the swelling, I reviewed what was different about my eating and medication activities, and the only thing that was different was the addition of Aleve. I have taken Advil for a long time, but I thought something new may have a better effect. However, this definitely was NOT true. I would not suggest this product to anyone without suggesting that they check the website for side effect of those who have actually taken this product.
