| 1 | pain | I went out and bought a bottle of Aleve gel caps because I took a tablet the other week and was fine. I guess it's the gel caps I have issues with. about two hours after I took it I started itching like crazy, mostly on my hands feet and underarms. It was INSANE. The itching started right after I took a shower but I didn't use anything different. The only conclusion I could come to was the Aleve gel caps. Sure the pain is gone, but I'll take that over this itching. It's too close to bedtime and I don't want to be up half the night scratcing. I have a whole bottle of this stuff that I can't take. At the time I didn't think it was the Aleve since I had never had any reaction in the past but now as I am writing this I am suffering from the same symptoms again having taken one Aleve tonight at the same time, just before going to bed. My hands and feet are extremely itchy this time and the hives are really bad again. I have taken the antihistamine right away this time and just hope that it will kick in pretty soon. I will be making an appointment with my doctor this week to alert her to what has happened. Now that I am quite sure it is the Aleve that I am allergic to I will never take it again. I will be sharing my experiences with everyone I know as I would hate to have anyone else experience these horrific side effects. I was shocked to read that so many others have had such dire experiences and think this product should be taken off the market immediately. These things only last about 20 minutes, thankfully, but I'm thinking with my other eye problems, it's not worth the risk.
