1  Depression, Anxiety I was on Trintellix for approximately a year and a half. I have routinely worked out for several years to combat anxiety and depression induced my childhood trauma. The time I was prescribed Trintelix was around the same time I caught COVID-19. I noticed fatigue but blamed it on the virus. My fatigue got progressively worse. I gained 12 pounds despite exercising 5-6 days a week. I saw my primary care doctor and they said my fatigue was Covid-19 related as well. I was also easily irritated around my period and quick to anger. I was generally happy until…well, I wasn't. I had to really control myself at times. I secluded myself from my family and put a happy face in for work. My anxiety medicine did help with the snapping but I continued to blame things on possibly being pre-menopause, getting older, the virus, ect. I saw a different doctor because I was wanted to try something different because I just didn't feel normal. I've been off Trintelix for one week now. My energy levels have increased. My interest in life has returned. And I've lost 4 pounds. I'm amazed at the difference just after a week and I'm cautiously optimistic that my new medication is helping (Wellbutrin) F 41 1 years

2  MDD and anxiety Anxious, unfocused, mood jumped around. Felt out of it and unwell. This was the least effective anti depressant I've ever taken. I've taken all the major ssris for 25+ yrs for depression and anxiety and generally respond well to them all. Since I've been taking them so long, I need to switch them up every once in a while. This however was the worst. It made me feel weird and out of it. My depression got worse which except for wellbutrin is a first and my anxiety got worse. It made me feel off and I couldn't focus on what I needed to focus on. All in all a negative experience. But it's different for everyone, this may work for you. I'm not gonna leave some crazy emotional review demanding it be taken off the market because it didn't work for me LoL. Folks, use some sense when posting reviews. M 45 1 months

1  Endogenous depression, mild anxiety Suicidal ideation only got worse, anhedonia increased, social isolation. After around 2 weeks of taking it I started having constant rumination about suicide and my well-being was simply shut down. Sometimes I felt a very distinctive psychological pain that would make me isolate from anyone and the suicidal ideation was on its peak. Despite such severe side effects, the psychiatrist told me to continue taking it and even increased the dose to 10mg/day in the morning. After 3 months, Bupropion was added (150mg/day) and after 1 month my well-being got better, but I felt a bit blank (no emotions, no pleasure), psychiatrist still asked me to continue taking it, I wonder why :). Vortioxetine, at any point during my therapy, did nothing but only enhanced my already existing melancholic depression. I am not a doctor, but based on non-biased research its difficult to find anything positive to say about this "AD". M 27 10 months

4  MDD Stopping it cold turkey it did gave me brain zapps and headaches I couldn't get rid of just by taking Tylenol or Otc migraine meds I had to let it run its course it made me sensitive to light after the migraine ran its corse but everything went back to normal This medication did what it was supposed to do after many years and trying many different antidepressants a doctor finally listened to me and started treating my MDD and anxiety with separate medications because she looked at my chart and didn't know what else to put me on this medication she had tons of samples of and said lets give it ago if it doesn't work let me know and gave me a month of samples this med pulled me out of a depression hole with in two weeks that I've been trying to get out of for the past 2 months to me it felt like it reset my brain after a moth of being on it I stopped it cold turkey because I didn't want my body getting use to it and it stop working I did have side effects like anyone would when just stopping a medication I was good for several months then fell back into a depression hole so I started to take it again and again it did what it was supposed to do I also have borderline personality disorder so when my depression episodes hit and I can't get out of them by myself I know it's time to go back on it for a few months and I'll stay on it all of winter time because winter Is when I get really bad and with the tracking from my therapist she can see the difference this medication makes for the better I also have a complex ptsd dignosis and it does help calm the ptsd symptoms F 33 0 months

3  MDD and Anxiety Side effects - sweating, anxiety, nausea, and drowsiness I started at 5 mg and am up to 20 mg. It causes me to sleep all the time. I was taking it in the am. Now I'm taking it in the pm. It's difficult to fall a sleep, nightmares, and I'm oversleeping. It helped the first few months with mood, but I'm feeling unmotivated to do anything. F 42 6 months

2  Major Depressive Disorder Stomach problems, light nausea, irritability, dizzy, and aggitation. I want to get off Trintellix. I don't want stomach aches and general feeling of sickness anymore. I had tried 20 mg and had worse stomach problems. I have to take Nsaids at times which is not recommended for this medicine. I haven't been able to figure how much it causes motion sickness & off balance unless I go off it. All these antidepressants have too many side effects. It does stop me from crying but that's it. I've been more irritable than I have ever been. F 64 2 years

Its making my insomnia worse and last night I had 2 bad nightmares and woke up with panic feeling. I also have been having more heart palpitations than I normally do. Hoping these side effects will go away with time but I wont know until I up the dose to 5 mg this week. F 69 1 weeks

1  Major Depressive Disorder Trintellix stole my life from me. I was diagnosed with an incurable disease after taking this med for three months. It feels like I have the flu every day, and I can't leave my home. I'm 41, a wife, mother, and just filed for permanent disability because of how sick I am.  4  Depression/anxiety Mild nausea for a couple hours after taking. Tried taking at night but couldn't sleep, so now I take it in the morning. Other than that, no side effects. This was the game changer for me. I've been 3 other anti-depressant/anxiety meds & this one has had the least side effects; no weight gain, no libido changes, etc. If I miss a day, I don't go into withdrawal. It's been a year & I'm still happy with it. Of course, other healthy lifestyle habits are important, healthy eating, exercise, sleep etc. F 41 1 years

3  MDD and anxiety Diarrhea, mild nausea, and dizziness Have suffered from MDD since I was a teenager and have been on and off many different medications. (Welbutrin, Effexor, Celexa, Zoloft and most recently Prozac) Started the first week on 5 mg with minimal side effects. Now on 10 mg, the diarrhea, dizziness, and nausea have increased but still tolerable. Hoping the side effects will eventually go away. Mood and anxiety have not gotten any better or worse so far. As long as the side effects don't get any worse I'm going to give it a couple months as the doctor recommended. Will update. F 39 2 weeks

1  Anxiety and depression First week on 5mg not too bad, no nausea, slight flushing, then increased to 10mg. Oh no, would not recommend this drug to anyone.  3  Bipolar 2 Trintellix is great as far as making me not feel depressed. Trintellix sent me into the most extreme mania I've ever experienced. It makes me feel rigid and even “high” sometimes. I experience intense nausea about ten minutes after taking this medication. More often than not I throw up shortly after taking it. F 23 1 months

1  MDD Chronic, severe without psychot Extreme vomiting, constipation, nausea, itchiness, headaches, neck/shoulder pain, verbally aggressive, easily agitated I started on 5mg which was fine but the side effects began immediately after increasing to 10mg. Vomiting until there was nothing left, then dry heaving. I couldn't keep anything down, solid or liquid. This went on every day for a week straight and dehydration set in. I'm into my second week and the vomiting has lessened. However, this is most likely due to my pcp mercifully ordering Zofran for the nausea and decreasing the Trintellix to 5mg. I'm able to keep food and liquids down although appetite comes and goes. Trying to stabilize my system with electrolytes. Also taking Senokot Dual for the constipation issue. By far, the worst experience I've ever had with any medication. F 60 14 days
