The second time I only got the nausea maybe two days. Start at half a pill the first few days to build up. It's the only thing that has worked for me in years. The only thing I'm getting used to is the added energy I have...I'm not used to having any so believe it or not it does taking getting used to. But this is a good thing! I'm on 5 mg and will probably stay there. I'm interested in reading how other people are doing on it. Not particularly pleased with the 5 lb weight gain so I'm going to get super strict with carbohydrates. I had no energy, was binge eating, couldn't get off the couch, extreme apathy for life and just couldn't experience any joy no matter what the occasion. Within 2 weeks of starting the Brintellix I was a completely different person. I could live again. I started with 5 mg for 2 weeks and then went up to 10 mg. After 3 months I started feeling apathetic again and wanted to live on the couch. Upped it to 20 mg and also started an exercising daily and started a big weight loss program to lose the weight I gained in the winter. Despite everything I've done to lose weight, I'm not losing any. My blood work came back normal and I've never had trouble losing weight so I'm assuming the Brintellix is to blame. I also have absolutely NO sex drive and I feel sorry for my husband. I don't even want him to touch me. I've always had a high libido so this is definitely a negative. I never planned to stay on Brintellix long term and I feel like it was what I needed to get me out of my original depression. Now that I've started exercising daily, eating healthy and taking supplements, I feel like it's time to start weening off so that I can have my sex drive back and lose weight. I would definitely recommend this drug because it brought me out of a terrible depression. The sleepiness is too much! | I started taking Brintellix on May 4th when my doctor was helping me get off Venlafaxine (Generic form of Effexor). I was tired of the venlafaxine. I alternated doses of each for the first week, and now I've been on Brintellix only full time since May 11th. Very groggy still, however my mood is stable for the most part.
