OZEMPIC  (SEMAGLUTIDE):  Semaglutide is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Semaglutide is similar to a natural hormone in your body (incretin). It works by causing insulin release in response to high blood sugar (such as after a meal) and decreasing the amount of sugar your liver makes. If you use insulin, semaglutide is not a substitute for insulin treatment.   FDA Approval Date: 2017-12-05 (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

5  To lose this god awful weight! Nausea only the day after, and it came and went quickly. I have been on Ozempic now for 5 weeks. I started at the .25mg and after two weeks, upped it to the .5mg. I have never felt so dang good! I'm 53, post-meno, non-diabetic, 5'4", and SW was 264. My current weight, after just one month was 19lbs! Now I'm down 21lbs! I'd love to finally be 165lbs or so again. I haven't been that small since I was about 11 years old. Ozempic has saved me! I can't believe it. I actually look forward to the injection ever week. I only had nausea for a little bit the day after I started. And since, then, it's been great! No diarrhea, no nausea, just boundless energy. And not just that, but it's done something to my brain! I have this amazing sense of optimism, and positivity. I feel hopeful again! I feel like I AM going to finally lose this miserable weight. I don't have much hunger. This stuff makes me NOT want junk food! It's a damn miracle, I tell you! I WANT to eat healthy stuff now. How did this happen?! LOL! I crave lettuce and raw broccoli, and carrots, and good steak. I hardly eat any breads or biscuits, haven't had any cookies or cake. I did have one small tiny little container of Blue Bunny vanilla ice cream. The kind in the little 1/4 cup containers that you buy. I think they come 10 to a pack? Five vanilla, five chocolate... And I'm also snacking on healthy nuts. Walnuts, pecans, pumpkin seeds and pistachios. I am so happy!! Let the weight loss continue! The struggle before was real. F 53 6 weeks

2  Weight loss I have been nauseous every single day, not enough to actually throw up but enough to feel awful. I have had diarrhea and upset stomach several times a week and I keep getting awful tension headaches for some reason that I was not having before. It's not worth the discomfort to me, can't wait to get this medication out of my system and feel normal again and not sick all the time. F 33 3 weeks

3  Type 2 Only on day 5 but blood sugar has declined. I wasn't a OUT OF CONTROL diabetic, but my highs were 210-220, lows 140. Glyburide was no longer effective and Ozempic was docs recomendation . day 5 and my highs, with metformin, are 120. Now the downside. Nausea like i have a stomach bug. VIOLENT bowl vacuations...and hiccups. I mean hiccups the likes I've never heard of. 1-2 hours at a time, up to 4-5 hours at a time. It's insane. I assume the medication is causing an irritation of the vagus nerve. So, on the blood sugar side, great already, on the side effect side...bleh. I have Odansetron now and will see if that helps wit hthe nausea, bt no idea about the hiccups M 55 4 days

3  Diabetes and weight loss Nasua, vomiting, no appetite, brain fog. This medicine helped me lose 40 lbs and my a1C was 5.9. But the more weight I lost the sicker I became. Gastroenterologist diagnosed me with gastoparisis. I was weak and sick all the time. I thought the brain fog was from depression, so I kept trying different psych meds. Finally I decided to take half my dose, and after about two weeks I started feeling a little better. Doc said my numbers were good enough I could stop taking it. My blood sugars went back to pre diabetic ranges and I put on 15 pounds In two weeks. Honestly considered taking meds to treat the gastoparisis and giving it another shot, but the brain fog is affecting my ability to work so I'm trying other medications. Side note, Victoza and Trulicity also made me foggy, hence why I didn't connect it to the ozempic. Was trying to many new meds at once. F 34 2 years
