| 5 | bi-polar (manic/depressive) | not much of an appetite | I seem to be a lot more stable when I take it as I am supposed to. I can think clearly.and not as gittery and angry ..I sleep well. I AM on other meds as well but they seem to be working well together. | F | 67 | 1 years 200mg 2X day | 10/28/2017 | 1 | biploar | killing me. cant get off taken my spirit health life family...cant work..cant hardly think. use to be smart and happy. now ruined. Don’t touch this stuff. | F | 58 | 4 days | 10/6/2017 | 3 | schitzoaffective | Apathy, no motivation. Not remembering recent events fully. Thinking of doing something then walking and forgeting what I was going to do. Everyone has this but for me it is almost 100%. Emotionaly blunted, no emotions and I don't care If I ever have again. That is a strange feeling but in some was is good. Can not follow plots in movies, gave up watching. Find myself at times lost in my thoughts, going in circles. Sitting just looking into space. Falling asleep early in the evening, can't keep my eyes open | I have read that Seroquel is like a chemical lobotomy. I would not go that far but it does definitely slow your thinking and memory. I feel like I am much slower thinking and sometimes if trying to thing about something loose my thoughts and can't remember what I was trying to think about. | M | 65 | 3 years 800 1X day | 9/13/2017 | 1 | Bipolar disorder/Scizophrenia | Lethargy, loss of interest, over sleeping, memory problems, permanent stutter, permanent shaking, permanent muscle spasms/rigidity, permanent twitching, equilibrium issues, eye titching, occasional black-outs( permanent), constant daily itching. | Started taking it around 12y/o and got off it when I was 16 1/2 y/o. It caused problems at school and in my social/home life(and still does) due to the side effects. My muscle spasms/rigidity are often so bad my legs lock up if I stand/sit for too long and I can't move them AT ALL(they're literally as hard as rocks). Oftentimes my stutter is so bad I have to stop talking because I get so frustrated or people start laughing at me. The twitching is often so bad it wakes me up when I'm sleeping and I tend to unintentionally throw things. The doctors think my "black-outs" are a rare form of epilepsy that was brought on by neurological damage due to being on such a high dose of seroquel for so long. I can't keep a steady job due to the permanent side effects and have trouble in social situations. My advice? If you're taking it, get off it as soon as possible. And if you're not on it? Don't start. Many of the issues I have now due to seroquel are rare or uncommon, but i know if I had another chance I wouldn't even risk it. | M | 19 | 4 years 450 mg | 9/7/2017 | 5 | Bipolar w/ manic episodes | Finally able to sleep well through the night. For me gaining weight has always been a problem and I've gained about 12 lbs since taking this medication. Some people see the weight gain as a negative while this is a positive for me. I have also experienced what finally feels like a "balance" in my life. I'm able to get my words out. I don't hold my feelings back anymore and I love it. I have not experienced anything negative while taking this medication. | What works for some may not work for others. | F | 28 | 4 months 200mg | 8/31/2017 | 1 | This drug was devastating for me.I slept a lot, was sluggish, breathless, felt no emotions and felt like the iron man. I have not lived for the past seven months and have progressively got worst. Gained 2 stone in 7 months. I've been off it for 1 month and I am starting to feel a bit human. This drug messed with my brain. I am so glad to be off it | F | 54 | 7 months 100 | 3/10/2017 | 5 | Bipolar, severe depression | Zombie effect, but needed my brain to slow down. Helped me stop shaking. But...weight gain is out of control. I've always been slim and athletic, now I'm plump. Ugh...makes me sick. I'm slowly going down on my dosage and trying to get some life back. I really hope my racing thoughts and my trembling don't come back. | F | 56 | 2 years 600 mg | 3/6/2017 | 5 | bipolar depression | Seroquel has given me a sense of well being that no other med has done. I take 300 mg at night. I'm willing to put up with the side effects such as sleeping 12 hrs each night, some muscle cramping, and digest. issues. I have to be careful of my diet but some of that has come with age. I'm 72 and have dealt with bi-polar disease since 1990's when rapid cycling became worse and I was finally diagnosed in 1994. I am trying to come off Pristiq because even with med. insurance, I was paying almost $400/month for this med. Down to 1 pill/day and still cost $165/month.Highway robbery by another name! Am having stomach issues withdrawing from Pristiq but I will continue Seroquel. I am fortunate that due to my age I can schedule my life around Seroquel side effects. I'm certain this would be difficult to do as a young person with job and/or family to raise. After I'm finished with Pristiq, I want to try a lower dose of Seroquel - down to 200 mg/night but I'm in no hurry. Coming off Pristiq I ha | F | 72 | 7 years 300 mg 3X day | 2/23/2017 | 3 | Early onset bipolar and psychosis | I had been diagnosed with bipolar at the age of 14 after having episodes of mania in which I was delirious, in a state of delusional thinking with a dramatic depression relapse lasting 2 weeks after. Part of the reason I started taking this drug after the pyschiatrist telling me to was I had been doing strange unusually risky behaviours withou conscious awareness such as sending weird letters to boys and wearing weird clothes to school and breaking rules. Started on 50mg went up to 100mg and was drowsy for weeks after causing me health problems with my energy levels. When anything stressful came into play I would still lose control of my emotions and had to go see the psyhcitrist again to have another "up the dose" session. Before I knew it I was on 500mg such a strong dose, only benefit was I didn't go into paranoia and psychosis but still had high moods and low mood swings. This drug will affects your brain! I had noticed feeling of lethargy, emptiness in my thinking, eye strain, confusion and headaches when trying to retain information. I felt like it had made me dumb! I felt like I was floating though life as a weight gained tired and lifeless ghost not realising what was going on living for the moment but only because I could remember hardly anything! Apart from this awful feeling as though I was masking out on other young people's non drug experience like they were feeling better than me (and I know I'm not the only one). Being a very creative person I felt my | Apart from feeling so called "normal" and "not manic or depressive" this drug is so powerful it's like a tranquilliser! Get off of you can! You almost lose all passion and interest if everything! It's got a prominent dark side. | F | 19 | 4 years 400mg | 2/6/2017 | 1 | Ptsd | Couldn't swallow ended up in the er | Bad drug very scary | M | 52 | 7 days 200 | 1/31/2017 | 3 | bipolar | I woke up this morning not knowing where I was right away but I came too, then I realized I had no underwear on. I asked the man I was with why and he told me we had sex, now this was just a friend someone I wouldn't have sex with. After he said that I remember in my dream someone was giving me oral sex and the orgasm felt so real... It was real. This really freaked me out, apparently I was the one who started everything. He got up to use the restroom and I guess I woke up when he got in the bed, I was told that I was very energetic during the whole thing but I can't remember anything. Is there some kind of meditation or something that can make the memories come back? | F | 31 | 8 years 200 | 1/27/2017 | 1 | Because the psychiatrist said | I experienced seizure of the mouth and jaw. Struggled to breathe and swallow and almost died. Was met with nurses laughing their asses off. | It is painful to take. I would rather live in the Santee jail. | F | 31 | 10 years | 12/22/2016 | 1 | Bipolar-psychosis | Highly addictive do not take antipsychotic unless absolutely necessary for schizophrenia. Weight gain, sedated, lack of empathy, feeling of nothingness, not being able to express sympathy, agitation, no sex drive, tired all the time. Sad. | As you taper off do it very very slowly, months at a time. I should have only been on this drug a couple of months and now it's 6.5 years, highly addictive, I'm on 6.5 mg now but can't cut tablet anymore as it's tiny. So scared of insomnia and how it will affect me at work. Coming down makes you very agitated, impatient and itchy hands. Horrible. Never take this drug ever! | F | 53 | 6.5 years 200 1X day | 12/4/2016 | 1 | Bipolar, insomnia | Weight gain, fatigue, reasoning impairment, increased appetite | This drug is dangerous and you must watch drug interactions. Do not take it with Ambien. Ambien causes sleep walking in many patients and Seroquel creates a binge eating type appetite, taken together you may not realize you are raiding the fridge or doing other strange things in the middle of the night. Not only did I raid the refrigerator, I threw small things away, found things moved around, things like that. As far as I know I didn't go outside. Watch the drug interactions with Seroquel. | F | 64 | 5 years 100 mg 1X day | 11/17/2016 | 4 | Mood Swings | For years I've taken the genetic brand at 200mg. For the past two years I was losing control of my mood swings. I'd dwell on things for a long time. I'd make myself sick with anxiety. All this became my normal. I'd watch others and think how can they just enjoy the moment without freaking out about tomorrow? My new doctor told me that 200mg was like a maintenance dosage for me so she upped it 400mg XR name brand. I now feel numb almost to things. It's like I don't care much anymore about anything. It's kind of scary to sit at work, driving in my car, being at a restaurant or even at home and not stressing out about anything anymore. I mean this may be normal to a normal person but to me it's all new. I asked my doctor if this what was supposed to happen. She said that the higher dosage extended release and Adderal is allowing my mind to function without being manic. She asked if I still have empathy. Not a question I've ever been asked but I really don't know. I mean if something happens around me and catches me off guard emotionally I'll react but not to the extreme and it'll subside very quickly. It's just concerning to me because I've never been this calm about anything and now everything doesn't bother me...much. Not sure if I'm asking a question or just putting it out there to see maybe others have the same confusing thoughts. | Does this make you lose empathy? | M | 43 | 1 months 400mg XR | 11/15/2016 | 3 | depression anxiety insomnia etc | I experience only at night paranoid like somebody watching over you and like you cant breathe it keeps me up mostly at night from being paranoid and it gives me anxiety but i do work other night with sleep i feel refreshed in the morning i dont feel anxetiy in the morning and im very active in the morning it just at night that will kinda mess with and sometimes i gives you horrible night mare that keeps you awoke but if works different for many people i keep taking and it works for sleep when i dont take it im up if im up all night if i take it i least get 6 hours of sleep if very difficult to explain but if your going through it to your not alone but this will make you very addicted to the medicine so be careful | Seroquel does make you sleep dosage over 200 makes you sleep well at night under 200 works for anxetiy be careful with the doseage it can become very addictive | F | 21 | 6 years 600 mg | 11/2/2016 | 5 | BiPolar type 2, 1 manic episode | None that weren't to be expected. It's sedating by nature so kinda expected that given I take it for sleep. | Works great for my sleep. Take 600mg per script however there's days I'm tired enough that I can just take 300. No grogginess as long as I sleep 8hrs. No weight gain but I watch my weight anyways because my other meds. Very happy with it! | F | 36 | 3 years 600mg | 10/13/2016 | 3 | Bi-PolarII,Anxiety/racing thoughts | Amongst those people I've met and spoken with in my doctor's waiting room who are also prescribed Seroquel, we call it: "COMA IN A BOTTLE". | Seroquel puts me in a stupor type sleep that lasts for up to 36 hours! IT DOES HOWEVER STOP THE RACING THOUGHTS. Therefore, I only take it as a "rescue" medication when I can no longer deal with the anxiety and racing thoughts. | M | 33 | 11 months 200mg 1X day | 8/31/2016 | 1 | Insomnia | Groggy, foggy brain, felt like the medicine didn't wear off | My doctor prescribed this for slight insomnia I was having. Wish I never took it! Two prior attempts to get off medication completely failed (hallucinations, hearing voices, can't sleep, headaches). I was worried I would never be able to stop taking this medication. I've spent the last two 1/2 years weaning down 100 six months, 50 six months, 25 six months, 12.5 six months, 6.25 six months. I can't cut the pill any smaller so my doctor suggested taking the 6.25 and crushing it then taking 1/2 of that powder on my tongue. I've made progress but it's taken years. This is a powerful drug and highly addictive. | F | 44 | 6 years 100 7X W | 8/25/2016 | 5 | Insomnia | This is the only medication that has ever truly helped me sleep. Best for me when combined with Celexa 20mg at hours of sleep. I don't know what I would've done the past 5 years without Seroquel. | F | 42 | 5 years 25 1X day | 8/3/2016 |
