| 2 | Shingles Vaccine | Shot 1, no pain went to bed early. Shot 2, felt fine for 12 hours then became so fatigued I could only lay in bed. Weird headache that seemed to emanate from my neck. The palms of my hands felt as though they were on fire. Would have been anxious had I not been unconscious. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking, I certainly hope this goes away soon. Felt fine day 2. Not sure I would do it again. The injection site was red and swollen over 4 inches wide the day after the shot. It looked like someone had slapped my arm very hard and it developed a large knot. Then, I started feeling nauseous, had headaches and was very weak. I had no appetite for 4-5 days. Then, I felt like I was getting over the worst and could eat on days 6 and 7. Day 8 my stomach hurt and I had a terrible headache. Today, day 9, my stomach hurts, I am nauseous and have diarrhea. Hoping these effects are gone, tomorrow! I don't look forward to the second dose of this vaccine!! Then I developed pain in the outside of my knee that got worse rapidly. Soon the pain stretched down my shin to the inside of my ankle. It was nerve pain that was INTENSE. I could not put weight on it without horrible pain. The pain subsided in about 1/2 an hour. It was inflamed all day, but bearable. It flared up again on the third day. Same level of pain subside after an hour. Fourth day no flair up. Fifth day, headache but no pain. Now, on the Sixth day, the headache has gone. No nerve pain until the evening. It felt like I had a pinched nerve in my trap muscle. The pain has grown rapidly and now goes from my collar bone down through my rib cage and around into my upper lat. It hurts to breath deep and I can't lay down. I'm icing it up and taking Tylenol. 45 minutes and it is very slowly getting better. I still can't lie down. No other side effects. | Almost passed on this my second dose of Shingrix with all the problem reviews here. Went ahead anyway and received my second injection at grocery store pharmacy. First injection itself months ago was painful during the injection from pharmacist and had sore arm for 3 days with no other side effects. This injection was done by a different person. Barely felt it. Got my flu shot 10 days prior. I took 500mg Tylenol 1 hr prior to injection and as my arm became sore I took a second dose of Tylenol three hours after getting home. 2 hours before bed I took a prescription nsaid 50mg Diclofenac that pharmacist said would be ok ( it was originally pre-scribed for a foot issue). I also put a heating pad set to moderate on injection site. Pain started to subside in an hour. No arm pain the next morning and all is well. Both 1st and 2nd shots gave me similar symptoms. I expected some arm pain at site but was surprised at the amount of swelling and heat that remained for three days.
