3  Shingles Vaccine Arm pain, chills day of vaccination with body aches beginning that evening. Took ibuprofen first that evening and first thing the next morning then went to work. Diarrhea started early afternoon then body aches, headache, fatigue. Had no ibuprofen at work so side effects were worsening quite a bit by end of the day. Went home, took ibuprofen and slept for 3 hrs. Hoping to wake up feeling better tomorrow. Highly recommend keeping ibuprofen and/or tylenol on board after this injection. I will get my second but will plan to take it when. I can afford to feel crummy and will take ibuprofen in a much more timely manner. F 55

5  Shingles Vaccine Sore injection site, light headache and low grade fever Got 1st dose 10/1/20 at CVS. Next day developed light headache, low grade fever, felt little run down, was better on the 3rd day, however the sore arm at the injection site lasted 2 more days. Got second dose on 12/10/20 at CVS again. The reaction was almost identical to the first dose except it was milder than with the first dose and lasted a shorter period of time, barely 1 day, and sore arm just 2 days, and not nearly as sore as the first dose.  4  Shingles Vaccine First shot, just a sore arm as if someone punched me a little fatigue. Second shot was due 12/24 and I decided To wait until after Christmas and I'm glad I did. Ran through multiple reactions, in this order.... mild arm soreness, more arm soreness, body fatigue, chills / shivering so I piled On blankets, then woke up hot with 102F fever but I was Also in all those blankets, took off the blankets as I was Warm now, too warm, turned on the fan, woke up and turned off the fan, no fever, not just a mild headache. All of that came and went within 24 hours. Made me feel like my body had done it's work of learning to fight off the real virus. So it was fine, just plan for a reaction time possibly. F 53

3  Shingles Vaccine My husband and I had our first shots a few months ago and had mild injection site pain. 12/28 at 10:00 a.m. we had our second doses and started feeling ill during the night. My husband could not sleep and has flu-like symptoms including a fever of just over 100 degrees, full body aches, and lethargy. I have a fever of 100 degrees, body aches, lack of appetite and lethargy. I also have an Ocular Migraine. We both have injection site pain. Glad I found this site because we were not prepared for this reaction. Administered in the doctors office in Early November and second shot 12/28, also at the doctors office. F 62

4  Shingles Vaccine Had first shot Sep 2020. Took it with a flu shot. No real side effects except pain at injection site. My wife and I took second shot 12/24. Both of us have arm pain, stomach aches, chills and loss of appetite. Definitely much worse. Both of us are exhausted. M 66

3  Shingles Vaccine First shot and second shot same side effects with second shot being slightly worse. Both times it took about 7 hours to start feeling tired, upset stomach, feverish, achy like having a flu. Very sore injection site (left arm) with lymph node under injection site very sore and feels swollen. I took it at 3:30 pm on a Wednesday just woke up Friday and feel a little better but not 100%...lymph node is still very sore Advil helped a lot with fever and aches but basically felt like I got run over by something. Probiotics help too M 53

3  Shingles Vaccine First dose: very sore arm as in too sore to lay on that side to sleep. The next day, had a bad headache and that evening very crampy stomach with diarrhea. That lasted about 48 hours. Fifth day now and arm is still sore, but improving. I hope it was worth it, but you never will know! F 56

5  Shingles Vaccine I took the first dose some three months ago. My arm was sore for three days and I just felt fatigued. No fever. Just felt like mush. I took the second dose three days ago. After a couple of hours, the injection site was just a bit sore. I alleviated it by doing some exercises targetting the deltoid muscle. It made it feel a bit better. Later that evening, I had a fever (38.5-degrees C) and experiencing chills. Used a damp towel on my forehead throughout the night to help get rid of the fever. No tylenols this time because I know this is something artificial brought about by the vaccine. I just had to go through it. Day #2, still running a fever (same temp) and still chilly. Chills subsided by late afternoon and termperature down to 37.9-degrees C. I took my regular vitamin supplements including C and ate regular meals. I absolutely have no appetite for food Everything just tastes bland. But, I still had to eat so I forced myself. Drank water regularly to help bring down the fever. By evening just before bedtime, my fever was gone. Day #3 - Fever is gone but head ache and eye pain still persists. Especially bad when I sneeze or cough. But, I am feeling well enough to focus on doing some work before I call it a day. Both shots were administered on my left arm. I chose my left arm because it is my non-dominant arm (much less used) than the right one. M 54

4  Shingles Vaccine Glad I was warned by a family member that side effects could be severe after 2nd shot! First shot: very sore arm for 3 days. After second shot: swollen, red, hive covered upper arm; extremely painful at first (couldn't sleep the first night, despite taking Tylenol); arm has been distractingly painful and itchy since day 2; now into day 4, arm is still painful, itchy, red, and bumpy, though it's improving. No one told me symptoms could last longer than 3 days. Should come with a warning about the severity of side effects. (Still: having known people whose shingles symptoms never went away, better to get the shot.) F 53

2  Shingles Vaccine First injection: pain at injection site for several days, no other symptoms (11/2020) Second injection: pain at injection site (got the vaccine yesterday 12/23). Last night felt like I had worst flu symptoms in my life, couldn't sleep, violent chills and uncontrollable shaking, severe body aches, headache 10 on a scale of 10, worsening injection site pain. I thought I had COVID. Finally got to sleep about 8 AM, woke at 11 AM with symptoms somewhat improved. Never been so happy as when I Googled shingles vaccine side effects and found that my symptoms were common. I'm going to live! I don't have the virus! Still experiencing same side effects as last night, but not as extreme. I feel the pharmacist at WalMart should have warned me so I didn't think I was dying. He said I might expect mild flu-like symptoms and injection site pain. What I experienced was an order of magnitude past that. Certainly glad I found this site! M 70

Doctors and pharmacists need to routinely inform patients that side effects can be very severe. I had shingles in upper left quadrant of my face, my left eye is mostly paralyzed, pain still extreme after 20 years. So I would have gotten the vaccine anyway, but I should have been warned. M 70

3  Shingles Vaccine First shot no problems except a very sore arm. Within 24 hours of the second shot I started feeling like I had the flu. Muscle aches throughout my body were intense. Shivers and crawly skin. Body sweats, but no fever. Headache and serious fatigue. I could not think to function and spent all day/night in bed. I was scared that I might have Covid.Third day after the shot started feeling better. Awful, but better than getting shingles. Other than to expect a sore injection site, I was not told about any side effects. I let the pharmacist know how bad it was. F 60
