Little did I know that there was more to come. The first night I felt this extreme fatigue. I went to bed and then started shaking and felt extremely cold. I slept with a hoodie and 2 winter blankets. The next day I woke up with a pounding headache. I took Tylenol and instantly felt better. As the day progressed I started feeling tired again. I also felt thirstier than usual and kept drinking water. I took a long afternoon nap and then started experiencing severe chills and shivering all over again. I felt hot and cold and knew I had a fever. When I took my temperature, I was shocked to see 103.5 . I got worried and called the on-call as it was a Sunday. She told me to take Tylenol and said to call back if the fever did not go away the next day ((day 3). She said symptoms usually resolve in 48 hours. True enough, the next morning, I felt fine and just had a huge red itchy rash on the injection site. Frankly, I did not expect all these side effects. I did not have a weekend at all but was super glad this did not happen during the weekday as there is no way I could have worked thru all these side effects. I wish someone had told me how bad the side effects would be. I've had different vaccines (flu, MMR, tetanus, etc) but never reacted like this. Now I've started telling friends about it so they know what to expect. I plan to get my 2nd dose in 6 months and am hoping it will be easier. I will again plan to take it on a Saturday morning. Soared arm with bumps more like blotches. Have also experienced diarrhea. Went to the walk in clinic. The doctor said I should start feeling better but the injection site could take a while to heal. My right arm where I received the shot has not recovered. The pain is unreal. I feel as though I've pulled a muscle and like there is swelling in the lymphs but nothing helps. I can't lift it very well above my head or reach behind me. I feel like I've aged 10 years since getting this vaccine.
