This drug can cause something called hyperkalemia, and in doing so throw off your vaginal PH. This allows for infections to form such as yeast and BV, for three years I had them chronically and tried EVERYTHING to avoid them, never making the connection it was the Spironolactone because doctors said theres no listed side effects especially for yeast or BV. I eventually looked into it on my own and low and behold yes, it can cause infection. On top of that, I already suffered from depression and anxiety and had no idea to make the connection that this made it way more intense. I wouldn't recommend this in a high dosage to anyone who isn't already experienced with being chronically ill, because the side effects can mimic or worsen chronic illness. Side effects may also worsen over time.
