| 2 | Kidney infection | Lower back pain, headache | I’ve been taking Bactrim for 4 days and I’m stopping due to the increasing lower back pain I’ve been experiencing. This morning, it’s so bad, I don’t want to get out of bed. Initially, the symptoms were a horrible headache, fatigue, light sensitivity and some nausea, but other than headache, they’ve mostly subsided only to be replaced by severe lower back pain. The Dr. swears it’s safe and causes no side effects. Dr.s are idiots. Listen to your body and go with your gut. However, in all my years of struggling with anxiety, I have never had an elevated heartrate to the point of not being able to help it at all by meditating and doing breathing exercises, etc. I had panic attack symptoms throughout the day and nothing helped. Be aware that these symptoms are very difficult to deal with. | Bactrim began helping my infection quickly; I noticed the next day. Some people may greatly benefit from this antibiotic, but make sure to ask your doctor about the potential side effects related to anxiety. Day 5) Again I had severe anxiety, heart palpitations, mild headache, nausea, and now episodes of vertigo. Day 6) Skipped an entire dose. (For 24 hours.) Symptoms got better, but the rash the meds were treating seemed worse. Day 7) Only took one dose today and chose to skip my second one. I suffered extreme nausea, vomiting twice, mild anxiety, very tired, itchy all over, dizziness, feeling off balance, heart palpitations, and body aches.. Day 8) Decided im taking myself off this med. The infection in my foot is less worrisome than the side affects of this drug. | Bactrim should be banned as an antibiotic. | F | 32 | 8 days 800 MG 2X day | 12/23/2020 | 1 | Possible Infected Cyst | After 12 hours I felt very tired and weak, and as the day went on I developed muscle aches, joint pain (very severely in my left hand), became disoriented with brain fog, and loss of all energy. I didnt feel ill before going on it, and ironically after being on it became ill. I called the doctor and asked to be put on something else. After 36 hours of being on a different antibiotic I feel almost completely back to normal and myself again. That was an awful experience, which is odd because Ive taken Bactrim before. I went from riding 6 horses a day to an old woman in the matter of 9 pills. while taking it I had dizziness, achey muscles, joint pain and weakness, popping tendons; by the later pills my right leg was so stiff I was dragging it. if you are having bad side effects never push through an antibiotic to finish it. I underestimated Bactrim thinking 'well its not Levaquin, how bad could it be?'. I got through 9 pills, and when I stopped all hell broke loose. delayed reaction. It was similar to a mild form of guillian barre...severe joint pain and swelling especially in legs, severe nerve problems in my legs, weakness throughout my entire body, tight muscles along my spine, popping shoulders, weak arms, swollen blue foot, nightsweats, rashes, laboured breathing, tightness in chest, nerve pain all over, numbness, tingling all along my spine and legs. Touching my foot was almost unbearable (sensory nerves); getting a sock on was a process. It all was so bad Id wake up in the night moaning in pain and didn't want to wake up in the morning. I was unable to straighten my right leg so I was on crutches/wheelchair. Right leg was so weak it wouldn't take weight. If a bear was chasing me I wouldn't be able to move. If I tried to even rest my feet on the ground I would pull them up in pain. My right leg was unusable; my left leg had shooting nerve pain where I could get across a room thats it. I dragged myself on the floor in my house. | I couldnt walk on my own for about 1 year. After about 2 years I am almost a hundred percent and back riding horses again. I went to an ER about a month in to my ordeal and they found nothing wrong on their tests, shrugged their shoulders, and sent me home. Neurologist found nothing wrong either. My issue seemed like blood vessels constricting and cutting off circulation to the nerves. on the drug insert PAN is listed. maybe it was a stage III allergic reaction? some other nerve thing? who knows! My family refuses to take Bactrim after seeing what it did to me. I was lucky I didn't have a stroke or a closed up airway. I wanted to share my story to give anyone hope that is dealing with a reaction from bactrim. I'm sure this isn't all of my symptoms but I had to go to urgent care and the hospital.. this medicine is not medicine it is poison! We all need to learn and do our own medicine. Plants people!!! I have been taking prednisone and ibuprofen for pain/inflammation but the ONLY thing that helped my head and eye pain was MARIJUANA. Please don't take this drug.
