Xiflaxin is the drug for this specific bacteria but because my insurance didn't want to pay for it, I was put on Bactrim I thought to look this up today and WOW!!!!!!!! no one likes this drug and NO ONE has used it for SIBO. My stomach has been worse since being on it and I am all done as of today, throwing this garbage out and demanding I have Xiflaxin. In fact the pharmacist said he had never heard of such side effects before, yet they are listed as extremely common. This drug has been almost entirely banned in the UK, where it has been implicated in hundreds of patient deaths, yet not a peep from either the pharmacist or doctor!
