Now have a fear of falling back to sleep. I searched the net within an hour of this happening as was very affraid of what was happening. I would rather have to use my Salbutomol more than take this medicine again. I can't understand why my Doctor would give me this when I also suffer with anxiety and depression for this medicine to make me feel even worse. Feeling a little more reassured now I'v read it it isn't just affecting me this way. I took 10mg last night before bed like usual and had the most horrific experience ever. I had an overwhelming feeling of fear, felt like someone was in the room with me when I was alone, and stared seeing things move in the shadows. I could not sleep, I was too scared to close my eyes. I stopped taking the pill cold turkey tonight, and I am hoping all of these side effects go away. Started motelukast over a year and a half ago now and at first I had terrible nightmares or like semi-awake terrors like someone was in the room and I'd abruptly sit up in a panic. They subsided and only come back if I forget to take my tablet for a few days. Now I do dream a lot more though and the dreams are full on. Haven't noticed any other side effects. I can put up with the sleep disruption/ intense dreams as I can now exercise freely and talk without swallowing all the time! I just make sure i tAke the tablet right before i go to sleep and not 1/2 hour or an hour before bed! I could always hear music in my head, songs and melodies I had not heard since my childhood and what I would call a sonic hallucination? All of a sudden I could hear voices shouting at me and it actually startled me as if someone had just jumped out at me. The nightmares I experienced also were very vivid. One I remember, I was in a car park and stepped out of my car bare foot onto lots of snakes, but I could really feel the snakes under my feet | The worst thing about this drug is the stomach pains it gave me. I went to countless appointments and a specialist who all said different things but assured me it would not be this medication. I decided to take myself of it and voila! No more daily stomach aches. However my asthma has gotten worse. If you don't get any of the huge list of side effects listed in the paperwork included with this medication, it is like a miracle drug. It's just unfortunate for me and it seems many others that the side effects listed are actually much more common than they'd like us to think. Fingers crossed that an alternative is available one day with less side effects. I notice the first few hours (2-4) I take it I can feel my allergies lessening, but the effectiveness against allergies seems to go down after that. I became increasingly agitated and irritated, to the point I was kind of afraid to be around my family because I was afraid I would snap on them for no reason. Completely unexplainable stomach pain. Went to my family doctor because I was convinced I had either a UTI or an appendicitis. She ruled out both and said the singular would not cause symptoms like that. Went to my OBGYN and got an ultrasound because I thought I may have had an ovarian cyst, nope. Completely unexplainable stomach pain that bothered me almost 24/7. And right at the month mark of taking this medication my hair started falling out in handfuls and I was afraid to take showers. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION. | F | 30 | 1 months 10mg 1X day | 10/22/2022 | 1 | 8 months | Singulair 10 mg tablet is scary, the drug was helping my breathing while I was continuing using it but I wasn’t ok at all which I did not notice about the reason of side effects, and I just figured out that around 15 days since last dosage after 8 months of using 10 mg, I had hard breathing, headache, Feeling nausea, insomnia, sleepless, little shaking left hand, diarrhea , and a rapid of fast heartbeat but the big problem was my the mental issue, so mood changed negatively and has depression and anxiety. However, after the hard time visiting many doctors to find the problems, I found that after reading people experiences over multiple websites it’s the singulair plus it returned me back to past around 5-6 months ago when I was stopped taking singulair for one week, I remembered I been to emergency had headache, insomnia, chest problem till I took it again once a day before sleeping which made me not ok. I am not Recovered a 100% and still having hard times but for sure I will be ok very soon. Not recommended at all it’s not worth it plus asking qualified dr is important. Stopping and using can cause series side effects.
