This was very uncomfortable as it felt like hundreds of pinpricks in your skin. Developed blisters along the inside of my upper lip. I just felt very tired. I also experienced severe sharp pains in the back upper left tooth area almost like I may be having an abscess. This pain also increased throughout my teeth and gums. Very painful. | I have RA and have been on Remicaid infusions for the past ten years. Due to this drug I have become allergic to a lot of drugs however I believe the Remicaid is what caused my triglycerides to exceed to 800(+). My MD tried me on statins and I had severe lower back pain to the point I had to get my husband to help me out of bed. So my MD put me on Zetia as she explained it was not a statin and have never had a patient yet who could not take it. Then I'm her first. What good is a drug if it deplete your quality of life. My numbers are great but I just had my second stent installed in my lad and it freaked out my dr. He was shocked that I had developed more blockages so fast (first stent was 3 years ago). Put me on zetia to get my cholesterol as low as possible. The chest pain was bad and would actually wake me up at night. The Brest pain was excruciating. I'm off the drug. Symptoms are mostly gone... It wasn't until I | It's so easy for a doctor to just prescribe a pill and then move on to the next patient that's waiting in an adjacent room. You know your body better than anyone else. Be proactive. If you want to lower your cholestal do it the old fashioned way - change your diet and preferably go vegetarian as there is NO cholestral in plant products. Then again, maybe all the nausea triggered the cravings. My doctor gave me a one month prescription of Zetia to try. I don't know yet whether it is actually helping my cholestrol, but I have been experiencing some side effects. I take it in the evening as recommended because that is when your body manufacturers cholestrol (and the pharmacist said fiber can interfere with the absorption of Zetia) However, every morning, I get nauseous right after eating breakfast. I also have been experiencing some joint pain (I have arthritis already, so the joint pain got worse after starting Zetia) and muscle aches, fatigue and now I seem to be starting to itch around my abdomen and the back of my neck burns. I would like to find something I could take to help my high cholestrol because of our family history of heart disease, but sadly, it doesn't look like it will be Zetia. Has anyone ever tried taking Niacin for high cholestrol?
