I have classes this week so unfortunately I can't stay home. I have constant nausea and my stomach hurts a lot in the morning and when I come home from school to take my second medication I get so tired I can barely finish my homework. The Amoxicillin everyone, including myself, used to take "back in the day" no longer exists to the general public. When you go to the pharmacy and hand in your prescription, unless you say otherwise, it's then up to the the pharmacist to fill it with whatever they've got. A few ways to make life easier and get around this issue to to simply talk to your doctor about brands, generic or non. I suggest you know your shit before sitting down with your Dr though, most of us know that they'll push anything on you for endorsement $$. Unless your DR has specifically written on the script itself (NAME BRAND ONLY) or you've done your research on generic brands, called pharmacies near by, talked to them about who they carry/if they're able to order a brand you'd like to continually get, etc. and have Dr write that generic on your script, then you won't have to worry about getting awful filler pills from over seas, OR have to worry about them switching your generic randomly without saying anything. Which I don't care what anyone says, that absolutely matters. Different generic=different side effects. I became worried that I was sick with something, and naturally didn't correlate it to the medicine, because I've never had chills from Amoxicillin before. Anyway, the chills were on and off, and turned into hot flashes as well. I dealt with this for about 7 hours until the medicine wore off, and then had to take a second round of it at night. Four hours later I woke up from my sleep with chills, hot flashes and stomach pain again. Everything seemed ok for the first couple of days; the sinus pressure did alleviate. However, in its place has been a constant feeling of being off-balance (not quite dizziness, because nothing is spinning), weakness/fatigue, no appetite, sudden increases in heart rate, shortness of breath/tightness in my chest, and an increase in anxiety (usually related to the symptoms listed above.) I ended up going to the ER because I was convinced that something was wrong with my heart; all tests came back normal. It was only after googling side effects of the amoxicillin that I put two and two together. | I'm supposed to take two additional doses before I go back to the Dr. for a follow-up about the sinus infection. I will not be taking them. At this point, nothing can make these side effects worth it.
