| 2 | Tooth infection/root canal | Jittery, anxious, heart palpitations | I was prescribed this by my general dentist for a tooth infection. I've taken amoxicillin before (just not this high of a dose @ 3x a day) with no side effects. On day 3 I started getting extremely anxious and jittery with heart palpitations. Had first part of root canal on the 3rd day so chalked up the anxiety to nerves about the procedure. I was told to continue with the antibiotic until finished. I have about 5 more days of this medication and I don't think I can finish. I've been having panic attacks for a long time after over-taxing my adrenal system with too much coffee years ago. I'm now very sensitive to caffeine, epinephrine, etc. Never thought this "mild, rather benign" antibiotic would trigger an attack. I have no problem normally with Bactrim or Z-Pack. Took the second dose at night and shortly after I had a panic attack. I thought I was losing my mind. I had no idea why I felt the way I felt.
