| 1 | Strep Throat | My mother rushed me to urgent care when she realized that my tonsils were completely swollen and white. They tested me for mono and strep but both came out negative. Still, they sent me home with amoxicillin. The pills were too big to swallow so I had to crush them and put it in jello. Two pills a day for ten days. Every time I took the pill my body ached and I had a fever, which got up to 103 degrees. At night I would wake up every hour having a panic attack and I would be soaking wet from sweat. After 5 days of taking the pill, I stopped because I was forced to babysit. My throat immediately cleared up and I started to feel better again. Now, after 5 days of not taking the pill I have developed a rash all over my body (except for my face). It's starting to go away slowly but it itches and it looks disgusting. I ended throwing up to point it strained my abscess bringing infection to surface on gum and was very painful I had no choice but to sterilize a needle pop and drain was not very nice. Today I've continued with amoxci woke up drenched from sweat but no real bad pain unless i touch tennis ball on outside of face. I've had over the top sweats hot and cold feel like I'm down with full blowen flu have headache muscle and tummy aches and look terrible. I've lost my appetite and just generally feel horrible tooth aches gone on inside but didn't expect it to bring on flu like symptoms. Does anybody know why its made me feel like this? This continued for about 9 days, then switched to loose stools, then almost normal after 14 days. I took probiotics to help digestion. At 20 days extreme depressive moods set in then would disappear, only to re-occur again usually in mid-morning. I found myself ready to snap at people and was getting mad at things that normally would not bother me. I tried to combat this by keeping myself physically active. The physical and mental activity seemed to take some of the starch out of my depressive and negative moods; mind you I don't suffer from depression and am generally a happy guy. Still it was an ordeal. At the end I kind of thought I was going crazy. | I'm not sure I would take this drug again. The duration seemed rather long too me. If the depression cycle had started earlier in the cycle I probably would have stopped taking it.
