I really thought I was loosing my mind I went to the same doctor about my anxiety and they were clueless that this medication was causing these side effects... I was too I just didn't make the connection until 2 months later I started researching and found this page and was like wow....... I'm now a month and a half off of it.... I'm still dealing with the anxiety and the ringing in my ears but I have a little hope. Everyone on here that has responded said they did get through the side effects but it just takes some time. Please feel free to reach out to me and I'll be happy to share what I've been doing to get over this. I am now about 12 hours without taking Protonix and some of the side effects have eased off (headaches and nausea). Because of some problems i had 1 week before i took pantoprazole - i was in ER couple of times and my blood pressure was normal, so i know my body. MEASURE BLOOD PRESSURE because you will have problems with that, and that's from where your blurred vision and dizziness is coming from. 7 days off of pantoprazole i went to cardiologist and took Echocardiogram, and they found me harmless extrasistole, which i also had never before. But i could feel it at that time, now not after 20 days off of pantoprazole. Your chest pain, short breath is coming from effect this drug have on your heart!!! THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS DRUG, to the point that i still feel side effects even 20 days after my last pill, i am afraid that i will need a lot of time to recover! I had been left with some digestive upset after taking NSAIDs as prescribed for two weeks. I had been given the generic pantoprazole to take for stomach protection with NSAIDs, so I started it for a few days and stopped when the migraines hit. Reflux came back worse, so I gave it another go. The headaches weren't as bad so I soldiered on. I didn't connect the dots when my neck started hurting. I just figured I pulled a muscle. Then one day I developed the most unbearable, EXCRUCIATING, debilitating nerve pain under my left shoulder blade and extending through my shoulder, forearm, and into my wrist. I've never felt anything like that. Off to the ER. My heart looked good. They told me it was a pinched nerve, and I figured they were right. Still didn't connect the dots until I started to notice it hit around the same time every day, and I was fine right up until then. It hit about 12 hours after my daily dose. My last dose was three days ago and I haven't had that terrible pain since the day after. PROTONIX (PANTOPRAZOLE SODIUM): Pantoprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. This medication relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. It helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus.
