So I know for a fact this drug is causing all these symptoms. If you want whats above so you can get rid of some acid, you would be crazy. They are all bad, but the worst symptom for me is anxiety and the brain fog. I feel like I cant talk. I dont know why its effecting my thought process, but it is. Do not take. If you are wanting some relief with a lot less side effects, try sucralfate. It still has side effects but for me the pros outweigh the cons. I've lost a lot of weight in a short period which I believe contributes to the exhaustion. | I've read that the rebound phase can be anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months. I believe that the side effects caused an imbalance of elements and nutrients. I've been trying to add supplements but can see this will be a longer road to recovery. Mostly, I think my stomach cells have to repopulate and the levels of Gastrin would have to level off back to normal before there will be any relief. I'm guessing that there are other cells in the body that need repair as well. I will never take a PPI again. There are much easier lifestyle choices that would have helped greatly with any medication at all. DONT TAKE THIS OR PPIs, unless there is no other choice. No ulcers in stomach or colon. They assumed it was a small bowel bleed brought on by aspirin use. The first few weeks were fine, I thought it made me feel better and the bleed stopped. (Had to have six blood transfusions in the hospital.) I asked my gastroenterologist if I could have another month of Pantoprazole (I was taking the generic), and he called them in. The same day that I started my second month of this medicine I started having heart palpitations and stomach acid diarrhea. The next day I felt better until evening. The palpitations were so bad I was dry heaving. I had no idea this could be a side effect. The next two days were terrifying. Severe heart palpitations, high blood pressure, heart rate was 122. My blood pressure monitor was reading irregular heartbeat. I had just gone through a series of heart tests when in hospital so I couldn't understand why I was having so much trouble. I had no pain like I've read some do here, just felt so bad with the palpitations. So I finally got to this site and this is my second day off of the drug. I felt so much better today, blood pressure returned to normal, still a few little palpitations but nothing like yesterday. | While on Pantoprazole, after I ate I would get this horrible stomach pressure which ended with the palpitations. Today I was able to eat normally and felt fine. I did have a late night snack that seemed to set things off a little again, but nowhere near as bad as it was. I'm looking forward to feeling myself. This drug caused me a lot of anxiety the longer I took it. I looked up the side effects and found out that pins and needles/tingling is a side effect. I've been off of it 4 days and still feeling the tingling. I hope this goes away.
