| 1 | Dental infection | Extreme nausea, extreme fatigue, slurred speech, anxiety and depression. My partner noticed especially that I was very down and acting as if I was drugged. But it sounds like mild peripheral neuropathy brought on by the Flagyl. I called my physician and she recommended I continue with flagyl and added 100 mg of Gapapenten to the mix. That completely took care of the neuropathy however now I'm experiencing lower back spasms. I know the potential severity of untreated c-diff, so I guess these issues are tolerable. 2 days left, and I'm hoping it did what it's supposed to do. (I have found I can only take the Gapapenten at night. Developed lichen sclerosis - may not be related. | When the doctor prescribed the second round of Flagyl, she also suggested an additional pro-biotic, Saccharomyces boulardii (SB). I was already taking supplement that is a blend of several other probiotics. SB has been widely studied as being one of the most effective pro-biotics to combat effects of C-diff on the intestines. My intestinal issues began clearing up 5 days after I started on the second round of Flagyl along with the pro-biotics. I've been off of Flagyl for 3 days now and find that my symptoms (seemingly from Flagyl) are abating. I have one "normal" day - 5 hours max, followed be one "semi-normal" day - 2-3 hours max. Neurologist says that Flagyl is notorious for affecting the central nervous system and causing all sorts of problems including neuropathy. Other doctors say I'm just depressed and need meds which Ive been taking ( I'll try anything to feel better) I can sorta say that there is maybe some improvement but the symptoms sometimes wax and wane or are intermittent. But I wake feeling unrested and yawn and yawn all the time with fatigue. I now am barely a productive functioning person and I struggle so much . Nothing helps . Will this ever go away? Anybody going through the same thing please contact me. [email protected] I am beside myself and strongly believe in my gut that it was the Flagyl . Anyone reading this don't ever take it. There are other options. Now, its to the point of constant shooting/burning pain from my right foot up to my back. My ortho doctor had me out of work with a walking boot on and knee scooter for mobility because he too thought it was a stress fracture. This whole time its been peripheral neuropathy. I cannot believe nerve pain hurts this much. I feel I am going insane. Nothing shows on xrays and no doctors believe how much pain I am in and how drastically my life has changed. In addition to the nerve pain I also had terrible blurred vision while taking it and I have gone from 20/20 vision to bifocals in 4 months.
