| 5 | shingles in eye | No side effects at all--had very severe shingles in the eye and trigeminal nerves. Now day 8 I am experiencing severe heartburn. Thinking it MAY be the valtrex so I'm going off it. Also for those saying boyfriends gave it to you. They may not have known they had it and it doesn't necessarily mean they cheated on you. It can stay dormant for years. Not always the case, but do your research. Most people have it, but don't show symptoms.
